New camera

I bought a new digital camera last week and used it 4 times now. It has 67x optical zoom and a 1/1200 sec speed shutter. The first image shocked me, a helicopter (we have loads of army ones flying here) and the blade are frozen, not blurred! The second was a zoom to a bird on a wire. The next 2 were Saturday morning I saw an antelope in the distance and zoomed in to get a shot and noticed in the full zoom there was a baby in the grass with the mother.

For those who do not know, the Antelope are NOT related to deer. The closest living relative is the African Giraffe. The are also the fastest American land animal, they can run 50mph for 20 mile and burst to 60mph!

Is that a Minolta Pro Shot.

Try a few shots of the moon, i have a p1000, i get really good shots.

No, it is a Canon SX70 HS. The Minolta and a Kodak were on my list and I decided on the Canon in the end. I'll have to try a moon shot soon.

Awesome photos! Photograph moving water (a creek or waterfall) early in the morning- it will give you amazing shots.

Well, a daytime shot is likely not what you assumed I would do. I tried it a few hours ago.

This morning 2 Antelope were crossing the road so I waited and as they ran off I took 2 images again....

And another helicopter was going by so I too another shot of it. Different type from the first. Top blades are frozen, but a bit of a blur on the back ones.

Yes. I am not a "camera" person, so point and click for me. No tripods or knowledge.

A couple more pictures. I too the spider on the wall on Friday in my office.

The sunrise is from this morning about 6am. The sun is so red and the slight haze in the air because of fires around the state (so it smells like a campfire morning). I thought it was a lovely sunrise. The background beneath the sun is not a low cloud, those are mountains. Normally much more visible. Oddly they were not visible to my eyes through the haze, but the camera shows them. Most of the mountains are obscured by the smoke this morning.
