  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When we're done with that, how about the Kangaroo FISA Courts. Then, we can proceed to the fact that nothing but nothing would be available for the public to peruse if not for FOIA requests, mostly pursued by Judicial Watch.

Do you react this way every time a court makes a decision you don’t like...?

I find standing on foreign soil and going against our intelligence and siding with his bud Putin goes against the country.

How do you feel about the intelligence community saying they will stop a candidate from being elected?

Two people exchange private text messages, and that's it since we don't have any indication either of them took any actions other than voting to stop Trump, and now it's the "intelligence community".

Ok.

How do you feel about the right saying "Jew will not replace us"?

The Lead investigator that personally changed the language to exhonorate Hillary before the investigation was complete and a government attorney.

Who then became lead investigator for the witch hunt talking impeachment days into without having starting any interviews

Yeah, nothing no to see there.

What does that have to do with the topic?

Thank you. It is related to the topic because it demonstrates a causative element. The relationship between the President and the intelligence has been caustic since day one.

While I didn’t like how he stated it and think it is a major error on the Presidents part, I can somewhat see the reasons behind it.

And that I feel is a part of the conversation on negative reporting that is not being spoken of.

Talk about a stretch.

You don’t think the consistent adversarial position the intelligence community has had with the President, the non stop leaking tovthe press, the heads of two intelligence agencies shown anti Trump and the questionable action with the DNC dossier being used would have an effect on how the President views the Intelligence Community?

Note: Icstated that I don’t agree with how he handled it, but I can also see the other side of the coin.

How is that a stretch?

You must have simply been 'beside yourself' with frustration or outrage during the previous eight years, then.

You were, weren't you???

Trump cold invent the cure for cancer and the media would still find something negative to say.

Probably because it would work about as well as his university if he did it.

OK. How about them? What evidence do you have to show the issues you claim are there?

You are politically astute and know the incidents I'm citing. I don't feel the need to jump through Internet Hoops.

Folks, this thread is about yesterday's meeting between Trump and Putin. I understand the need for some to derail off the actions of Trump, but please stay on topic.

I know these are vague accusations. To claim knowledge of the top levels of our judicial system based on an outsiders view is ludicrous in the extreme. If there is such a huge issue we should have those who would have intimate knowledge of the inner workings making these claims.

Nicholas Burns, a former U.S. ambassador to NATO under President George W. Bush, called Trump’s performance “unprecedented” in modern American history.

“The president clearly sides with Putin. He is wrong,” said Burns, who now teaches at Harvard. “He is wrong on the facts, and most importantly, he is weak. This is cowardly.”........

“Clearly, Donald Trump is so beholden to Russia and Putin that he has abdicated American authority on the world stage to a murderous thug,” said John Weaver, who in 2016 ran Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s bid for the GOP presidential nomination. “It’s the most shameful day for American foreign policy since the end of World War II.”
This is an interesting read:
https://www.brookings.edu/blog/orde...t-to-the-trump-putin-meeting-and-nato-summit/

Steven Pifer, Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Center on the United States and Europe and the Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Initiative: The history of American presidential travel has seen nothing like Donald Trump’s July 11-16 sojourn. He began in Brussels with continuing public blasts at allies for not spending enough on defense that totally overshadowed a useful set of NATO summit agreements. In Britain, America’s closest ally, Trump used interviews to criticize beleaguered Prime Minister May’s handling of Brexit and put the European Union first on his list of foes of the United States.

In Helsinki, Trump delivered perhaps the most embarrassing press conference performance ever by an American president. With Vladimir Putin standing at his side, Trump did not mention Russian aggression against Ukraine; when asked, could not name a single issue on which Kremlin action had contributed to the downturn in U.S.-Russia relations; took Putin’s denial of interference in the 2016 election over the conclusion of the U.S. intelligence community and did not say that Russia should cease such meddling or face consequences. Putin must have been thrilled. One can hope that Trump did better in the actual meeting, but is there any reason to think so?

U.S. national interests would have been better served had Trump stayed home this past week.
