Okay, I'm posting this in both the teen and the young adult forum since well, i am both now

Alrighty here's my question.

At my college we have like these big fancy formal things maybe 3 or 4 times a semester. The guys ask the girls out to these things and they get all dressed up and the guy gets the girls flowers I mean it can be a pretty big deal.

NOW. Most of the time guys just sorta call the girl and be like "hey what are you doing? well do you want to go with me to that?" I mean its pretty lame and dumb. NORMALLY I would do that but this is a bit of an exception ok?

Now Girls! I need some tips here. What would be the sweetest way a guy could ask you out to like an event like this? We have several different ways of communicating here on campus. Email, Night mail (you can send packages to the girls dorms and they're delivered over night), calling them on the phone, or just going up and asking.

Now I'm willing to spend a LITTLE money on this (not alot just a few dollars) if its required. I want this girl to say "ohhhhhhhh that's so sweet!" but i dont want it to like seem super serious like sending a dozen roses or anything like that.

Now, My idea so far is this. I know this girl loves classical music and everything. And I just happen to play a little classical piano. Right now im on the verge of finishing up a "chopin" song (he was a very good romantic period piano player, in my opinion the best ever). Anyways the song is a very slow and sorta "romantic". I was thinking since she knows that i play the piano but never has heard me. So MAYBE I could record the song onto a cd and wrap the cd up and put on the cover "will you go with me to this thingy" (its called artist series) and then she could listen to the cd and stuff. I think it sounds like a good idea and the girls i've asked said that would probably work good. its definently out of the ordinary.

but yea if you have any other ideas PLEASEEEEEEEEEE let me know!

that sounds like a good idea..

you can expand on it...

Do it live... send her a voice mail (or have someone else do it) telling her to meet you at a certain place (where there is a piano) at a certain time.... play her the song, then ask her.

What about sending her an invitation over night...put the place and time something like "you're honored presence is requested" and be super lame about it and all formal, so she will be like "aww" but lighten it up with a joke gift, something she likes or that reffers to an inside joke...the more personal the better

i dont know her that well and i know she would like to hear me play the piano. im recording it cause i dont know if i can play the song through perfectly on demand. it'll take trial and error to get this right. i think im going to skip the flowers and just give her some if she says yes when we meet up for this "special event" thanks for your tips though and the "awwwwwwwww thats so sweet" is what im going for :D
