Kinda reminds me of Tiananmen Square~what are your thoughts on the Iranian rebellion?
Neda, young girl brutally killed in Iran, becoming symbol of rebellion

The only reason I am posting here is because of how strongly I support it. I have friends from Tehran that fled to Malaysia recently because of fears of being attacked after their dad was but they are on a mass information spreading campaign on facebook, twitter, digg etc. to inform people on the disaster. Several world-wide protests are being arranged to make even more people see (and maybe governments, but that's unlikely) what is happening and we are trying to push for the democratic reform of Iran. I seen the video of Neda being gunned down and it was very disturbing amongst the dozens of other videos I have uploaded across the net from my friend Atbin. We see the possibility for change, if not now then eventually.
The impression from the press had been that all was peaceful over there-guess the "election" changed that.

Right...and it's GOOD that Amadinijhad and BHO are BFFs...
Generally...people subjugated and oppressed for decades by tyranical dictators are peaceful....and very, very quiet.
Thanks for stopping in and sharing with us![]()
I had to look up "BFF"
Prez O sure wasn't expecting this blow up in Iran..
Our current Prez...IMO.... has a very unrealistic worldview...period....
...freedom is never free...
...and heaven forbid....THE world power ever lift a finger to forward democracy in other parts of the world.
Please pardon this much used quote...but Edmund Burke is quite correct...
~ all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing
(of course I know he's a dictator but can someone give me some examples of what his regime is like?) he was elected, but the political system is set up so only people who are approved of by the religious leaders can runexactly what kind of ruler is Ahmadinejad?(of course I know he's a dictator but can someone give me some examples of what his regime is like?)
does he really believe in the genocide of Jews? (that's not all I'm asking of him though)
he was elected, but the political system is set up so only people who are approved of by the religious leaders can run
this time he stole the election

there are people out there who support him being in power and who support him having the right to a nuclear weapon![]()
they think that if someone else has one, they have the right to have one too![]()
Can't we even have a thread on Middle Eastern politics without it turning into an Obama-bashing thread? Sheesh.
