  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why not? I mean for one nation to say another nation isn't allowed to do as they do would seem to be arrogance? And what would be the natural response to this?

Now, perhaps if there was a global world federation that was going to rule on these matters and enforce their rulings with military force would that be better? See where this leads?
I don't know Jim...

I wish I knew how to answer. If Iran were to obtain a nuclear weapon all on its own, that's one thing. I'm definitely not going to root for its right to have one, even if objectively it has a "right" to one.

sorry this may sound a tad arrogant:sorry::sorry:

there may be some people out there who shouldn't be carrying a gun, maybe due to their mentally unstable personality or lack of temper control, but objectively they may have the "right" to carry one. It doesn't mean I'd be crazy about such a person possessing one. I don't know if I'm making sense.

Thanks for pointing this out, MrJim.

I haven't seen any of the videos/images of this tragedy, but my prayers go out to this young woman's family, and that there will be no further bloodshed over her death.
 Hi Elsa, glad to see you made your way over here, it's a little busier than the anabaptist forum ;)

I hear ya, my question has to do more with who is going to enforce and by what authority--these things have a tendency of backfiring and we end up entangled upon the very web we weave..
