Does anyone have any advice on how to pray, even when you dont have desires too, or that it seems that im constantly just praying in my mind. Does anyone know of any help.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree that the Psalms are a great place to start. Even Psalm 62:8 says, "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge"...in other words, be real with God. Tell Him exactly what's on your heart.
And remember, our prayers will never be "perfect." Thankfully, we are also prayed FOR....
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." (Rom 8:26) and...
"Christ Jesus, who diedmore than that, who was raised to lifeis at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us." (Rom 8:34)
Be encouraged...and don't forget to thank Him for hearing you!!

I truly love your post.
We should all just pray from the heart and talk with God. Tell Him how we feel, not to complain, but just to release because sometimes we feel so bombarded with the thoughts and we just need to talk to Him. And thank God for the Holy Spirit! Who intercedes on our behalf.=]
