Chriliman is your brother? Really?

You seem surprised. I would have thought you knew what the bible said about believers and how they are related to one another, seeing as how you are so knowledgeable when it comes to the bible.

Your interpretation. What about a Young Earth or old? Global flood or not? Literal Adam and Eve, or myth?

Your words.

What's the matter? Is your Theology still up on the hoist?

It is interesting that you ask me about a child being raped.

Now let me tell you what I believe, because you act like you are all of a sudden ignorant when it comes to the Christian view of such things.

God can do whatever He desires to do. God is omniscient.

God created a world with animals and human beings.

God knew before He created the world that some human beings would rape other human beings.

But let me make this personal for you. My fiancee was raped when she was a little girl. Before God created the universe from nothing, He knew that my fiancee would be raped when she was a little girl.

If I stopped there and told you that was it, then it would be understandable if you thought that was a pretty lousy deal.

But I am not going to stop there. Rather I am going to ask you if you want my fiancee to personally tell you the rest. Do you want my fiancee to tell you the rest? Maybe you will take her more seriously. Or maybe you will come up with some reason not to take her seriously. Maybe you will stay true to your scepticism and just say that it is not really my fiancee talking with you but me, lying and pretending to be her.

The ball is in your court.

So you are not really brothers, and you can't speak for his personal knowledge. I didn't think so.
Your words.
What about a Young Earth or old? Global flood or not? Literal Adam and Eve, or myth? Are these things a work in progress for you?
It is interesting that you ask me about a child being raped.

Now let me tell you what I believe, because you act like you are all of a sudden ignorant when it comes to the Christian view of such things.
Each one is unique, it would seem.
God can do whatever He desires to do. God is omniscient.
Is not "omniscient" regarding knowledge, not ability?
God created a world with animals and human beings.
Allegedly. Was that over billions of years, or several days?
God knew before He created the world that some human beings would rape other human beings.
So you believe. How do you reconcile that in your theology? Does that act of rape preclude you from entering heaven? No?
But let me make this personal for you. My fiancee was raped when she was a little girl. Before God created the universe from nothing, He knew that my fiancee would be raped when she was a little girl.

If I stopped there and told you that was it, then it would be understandable if you thought that was a pretty lousy deal.
Indeed, but I do not have a theology with which I must attempt to reconcile it with.
But I am not going to stop there. Rather I am going to ask you if you want my fiancee to personally tell you the rest. Do you want my fiancee to tell you the rest? I have no need to hear these details, and even if I heard them, in what way would address post #774? Or is this just a red herring?

So you are not really brothers, and you can't speak for his personal knowledge. I didn't think so.

We are really brothers. And yes I can speak for his personal knowledge. Sceptical? Of course. Why not just ask him if we are brothers?

You won't. But maybe you will just because I said you won't.

What about a Young Earth or old? Global flood or not? Literal Adam and Eve, or myth? Are these things a work in progress for you?

See previous posts.

Each one is unique, it would seem.

Of course it would seem that way to you. That is how you want to see it.

Is not "omniscient" regarding knowledge, not ability?
Yes.

Allegedly. Was that over billions of years, or several days?

Try to stay focused, I know it is hard when you want so desperately to convey to me your views about how inconsistent the various views of Christians are regarding origins.

Stay focused Davian, we are not talking about origins or creationism or literal or figurative seven days. Stay focused. I am sure such a rational, learned, objective and intellectual man such as yourself can do this if he wants to.

So you believe.
Maybe you know what the word omniscient means, seeing as how you know more than Philosophers of religion know about the subject?

How do you reconcile that in your theology?
I do not have to reconcile it. One only attempts to reconcile two or more propositions with one another if they think they are somehow mutually exclusive.

Does that act of rape preclude you from entering heaven? No?

You know more than you let on.

Not necessarily.

Indeed, but I do not have a theology with which I must attempt to reconcile it with.

But you do have a worldview which must account for such acts. What sayest thou of the rape of a child?

I have no need to hear these details, and even if I heard them, in what way would address post #774? Or is this just a red herring?

You are far too predictable Davian. How did I know this would be your response?

I've never met anonymous person in person, but I can call him my brother because I see the truth of Jesus Christ in his words. This is the same truth I have in my heart. I would trust him with my family because I know he is a very honest man and a true follower of Jesus.

How could I know this without meeting him in person? Him and I are connected by one Spirit that allows us to have complete trust in each other.

I'm sure this is hard to understand, but imagine how valuable trust will be if there was ever a nuclear attack that caused a global catastrophe. Every man for themselves, except those who are in the body of Christ will find refuge from the catastrophe together.

If my life were in the hands of a stranger, I would rather he love me and be willing to lay down his life for me than for him to be willing only to give me a definition of what love is.
I´d rather he rambled about "the truth" and his own "rationality" endlessly.

Knowledge without love tendeth to make man more prideful than compassionate.
And lack of knowledge doesn´t prevent you from pride.
A doctor may know well what ails you and how to cure it, but if he loveth not enough to apply his knowledge, said knowledge is of no use to you. If he loves you, then he will avail himself of all that is within his power to aid you.
Gotta love your occasional use of ancient spelling.
I suspect, that in all your humbleness you are comparing yourself and Chriliman to doctors about to cure us?

You won't. But maybe you will just because I said you won't.
Chriliman has already chimed in on my side on that, your equivocations notwithstanding.
See previous posts.
To see your continued evasion? It does get old after a while. Is your theology that fragile?
Of course it would seem that way to you. That is how you want to see it.
I can only read what you guys (and gals) write.
^_^
Try to stay focused, I know it is hard when you want so desperately to convey to me your views about how inconsistent the various views of Christians are regarding origins.
And how your actions confirm it. ;)

#950 - you: And to what does organic life owe it's existence to?

You don't hesitate to derail your own threads.
Maybe you know what the word omniscient means, seeing as how you know more than Philosophers of religion know about the subject?
No, I simply right-clicked on the word to check that you had the usage wrong using the built-in dictionary function.
I do not have to reconcile it. One only attempts to reconcile two or more propositions with one another if they think they are somehow mutually exclusive.
What then happened to your theology with post #774?
You know more than you let on.
Have we not had this conversation before?
Not necessarily.
Not necessarily? I've got a half-dozen exchanges going on right now, where I am being told that I will be facing [insert hell concept here] for things beyond my control, but the rapist can get a pass? Does your fiancé share your theology?
But you do have a worldview which must account for such acts. What sayest thou of the rape of a child?

You are far too predictable Davian. How did I know this would be your response?
A throw-away comment. That you actually made that prediction, or that it was accurate is irrelevant.

No turning the tables here yet. I'm still wating for you back at post #774.

Is that what you'd really think would happen?

Christians prey on and take advantage of each other in non-catastrophic situations everyday. You think that suddenly in much more stressful, difficult, survival situations you'll all be more civil to one another?

Wow.

Strange that you lack the gumption to respond to that post (#774)... But at least you are being honest about your lack of your response.

The people who trusted certain bishops, priests and pastors with their children thought exactly like you for the exact same reasons. I don't think I need to tell you what happened next.

I've never met anonymous person in person,
For some reason, I am reminded of this:
Abe Simpson: "May I have a volunteer from the audience? Yes, you, sir. You've never seen me before, is that correct?"
Homer Simpson: "That is correct."
Audience member: "Well, then how come his face is on the bottle?"

Because The Simpsons was awesome?
This simple sentence tells me more about you than the multitudinous posts you have written since we began conversing. If you told me this earlier, it would have saved a lot of typing.
