Ahh, naturo. The cause for all these metal headbands that I see on cosplay forums nowadays.

well, they changed quite a bit. I think the colouring is much better, and the proportion is done much more realistically. the bg is a little better, and the colours are a little more vibrant. not too many changes, but its noticable. and in the manga, they did the same thing pretty much....just without colours, so it was pretty much just proportion.

...but i think they wanted to age the characters a bit, and to show who sasuke is becoming. or they just didn't like what sasuke looked like...

is it? the only difference i see is Sasuke.. his the colour of his clothing, his hair seemingly longer, and that his face looks worse than the smirk he usually wears. He looks very much like a potential evil character that he might become.

maybe my eyes aren't too observant...

I love that about Naruto. It really levels out the field - while it has central characters, the other characters play very big roles. I was very pleasantly surprised by Shikamaru. I loved him from the start, but I was afraid he was just going to be a side character for a bit, because of his bland clothing and character design - then I realised he was supposed to be somewhat boring. He rocks so hard.

absolutely, and his rising has brought out some other useful ideas for bad guys creation if you've been following the manga. Bad guys who think in terms of strategy and tricks. The only downside of Shikamaru i reckon, is his lack of special jutsu in the area of attacking. His shadow technique is meant to stall the enemies only..

i think Naruto won't be ending some time soon.. perhaps they'll go so far as to 100 episodes?

I think thats what they wanted to do with him. but the changes in the other characters aren't very noticable. its pretty much just proportion, and movment.

The only downside of Shikamaru i reckon, is his lack of special jutsu in the area of attacking. His shadow technique is meant to stall the enemies only..

but ninja's are rarley alone, there usually with a team. but thats only his speacial tecnuiqe, remember, ninja's get over 1000 tecnuiqes before there junins.

Oh no, Naruto is going to be epic on the scale of Dragonball Z. Trust me, they're not even halfway there yet.

Yup, the translated manga is ahead of the anime by quite a bit and from what I hear from Japan it's still going strong...

As long as they don't lack funding (wich is very unlikely) this series is going to go on for a loooong time.

Naruto is..a thousand times superior to DBZ. DBZ's art was very very childish and the whole thing was very silly and I can't stand it. While Naruto has length boss battles with characters standing around going NNNGGGH!! (TWITCHTWITCH) while two big characters fight and explode with new power everytime the other is about to win, it has it a lot less and with a lot cooler art and story and theme.

I'm kind of irked with Sasuke. The original introduction showed him and Naruto fighting together. I wish there were more missions and such before all of this started, because it's kind of stupid because there was never any team work, never any fun.

Yeah, mainly in the way the plot moves along. Naruto scales down the fights and can complete a major fight in 5 episodes or so, and the smaler fights lasting one or two episodes. Wheras DB/Z/GT would make the major fight last the entire season or more. Plus Naruto seems to have multiple subplots going on at once, where as in DBZ, there was mainly one single objective at a time.

Naruto's art is also better, but comparing art is a little unfair. Considering how old DB/Z/GT is, it's not very fair to compare it to the more modern animations. The modern animations have bigger budgets, and better equipment than DB/Z/GT was ever privy to. Also, considering that DBZ/GT had multilpe characters that orginated in DB, it's hard to change the overall style in Z/GT.

Oh I definately agree. But it's hard to admit that few series rival DBZ in sheer episode count (which is part of what makes it suck so much).

I hated the drawn out saga setting of DBZ, and normally even the Zabuza "saga" in Naruto would have been too drawn out - but the sheer intelligence of the Characters, and the style and theme held me to it.

Ok, you haven't read the manga, so you don't quite know HOW bad Jiraya is. Suffice to say if there's two ways to do something, one relatively easy, that doesn't attract attention, and one really difficult and dangerous that reveals to everyone just how cool Jiraya is the second option is the one he chooses.

he is, but thats what makes him so cool!

but, there is a time and a place for everything, he can be VERY seriouse at times. but when its somthing he is confident he can do, he is a compleate show off.

i've read the manga, Phoenix, but i don't plan to do so for the later ones coming out in the future.. reading the manga absolutely spoils the anime, for me anyway.

Hurting shmurting.

At first I thought Sasuke was going to rock out, but he just doesn't. Every scene with him that could be something emotional or something climactic, he just stares at whoever is there and says "i will fight you later."
It's kind of annoying.

Jiraiya is the greatest. He's one of my favourite characters. I love his energy and insanity, but also his seriousness and devotion. He rocks.
