My kids still play with marbles and yo-yo's.



Do you guys remember Spirograph? (I think that was the name of it.) It had circular templates that you used to draw spirals on paper. Very cool!

Loved Spirograph! We would play with those for hours. We also bought it for our kids too....so they could enjoy them! They never did as much as we did!!!

With Halloween coming up did you ever go trick or treating as a child? With those plastic costumes and masks that you couldn't hardly breath in? Little orange pumpkin pail---hoping that you would get something besides an apple....
It is so different now!!

Yes,I had many of them Halloween costumes also,I never could breath in them either.

Yes....you waited all week to watch it. Except we always had church (especially since my Dad was the Pastor!!) but on those days that we were snowed in.....


What about the Saturday afternoon specials. There was one that I never forgot and it was a cinderella type story with 3 acorns.....does anyone remember that?

Yep, I remember the Sunday evening Disney movie. Don't remember the acorn flick though.

I remember when bottles and jars didn't have anti-tamper seals. We just popped them open. Mayonnaise jars were the easiest.

My brother and I just loved them and would save our money so that we could buy some.....so fun!!

How about when Hubba Bubba gum or the other bubble gum came out....we loved those too. (Sorry can't remember what the name of it was....Bubbalicious?)

I remember Slime,that green yucky stuff,my brother would use mom's dinning room table,get 2 cans of it and turn the blow dryer on to get air in it and see how big of a bubble he could get. (we still have a photo of it) I would laugh so hard watching him

Also remember when pick up sticks came in a can with the metal lid?

Oh yeah, Kerplunk, the marble game where you pull out the sticks and try to keep the marbles from dropping.

There was another bubble gum called Bubble Yum.

I liked the Hubba Bubba Bubble gum, it was a rare treat when I had some money as a kid.

Yep, I had old maid cards. also had go fish cards with the Flintstones on them.

The Jetsons were OK but I liked the Flintstones better. My friend and I used to pretend that I was Wilma and she was Betty

I don't think kids of today know who the Flintstones and the Jetsons are.

We have just got a new free to air T.V station and they are showing re-runs of the flintstones, jetsons, scoobie doo, bewitched, I dream of jeannie.

It's great watching them again, hope they put gilligans Island on too.
