  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think that's true with most movies. Against my better judgement, I let a friend talk me into watching 'Knocked Up', stupid!

Well, hopefully watching the Hawks, have 4 soccer games, but won't make them all, and meeting a friend for coffee on saturday night.

I don't think I asked you what you're new years resolutions are?

Hope you have a great weekend!

I did not really make any resolutions as I usually don't keep them and then get disappointed in myself.

However, I'd like to keep on getting closer to God, knowing Him more and also to keep on exercising daily as I realize how good it is for me both physically and mentally.

I'll take anything else that comes my way, on a day to day basis.

Enjoy the games and have a wonderful weekend!

Sorry about the Seahawks. I really enjoyed watching the games. Everybody I wanted to win did, except the Colts. The Giants/Cowboys game kept me at the edge of my seat until the very end. :swoon: I'm glad the Giants won.

Yah, there was some great games this weekend. I didnt see the Hawks game cuz we had a soccer game, but I'm glad I didnt. I didn't get to watch much football, but I did watch some of the Cowboys vs Giants, so the Packers vs the Giants should be a really good game! Watch out for those Charges, they are playing really well right now. I wonder if LT is going to play?

Are you a basketball or baseball fan?

For some reason I never liked to watch neither Baseball nor Basketball. My favorite sports to watch are football, soccer, tennis, ice skating, skiing (downhill, slalom), gymnastics, swimming, and volleyball.

Which one do you like to watch?
Soccer, football, baseball, and golf. Hockey can be fun to watch, but I don't usually don't follow it till the playoffs. I've never heard of anyone saying they enjoy watching swimming.

Speaking of watching, I don't recall what your favorite TV shows are?

Some of my favorites are: CSI, NCIS, Law & Order, Every Body Loves Raymond (hillarious!), or game shows like: Are you smarter than a 5th grader, 1 vs 100, don't forget the lyrics, jeopardy.

I don't really have much time to watch TV during the week though.

Do you watch much TV?
Same thing, I don't watch a lot of TV since I often get home close to 9pm, and try to be in bed before 10.

My favs are the older shows, Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies. I also like the Military Channel, and Fox Soccer Channel, along with the Simpsons, Spongebob Squarepants, and Looney Tunes, especially Bugs Bunny.

So how often do you go out and see movies, aka, in the theater?

I like Andy Griffith too. I don't have much patience with most episodes of Beverly Hillbillies. The "innocence" of that family is a little too much for me!

I don't often go to the movies. One reason is because, if I go, I need to pay for 3 people (the price to buy the movie later on), plus I have to smuggle some food and drinks (if it fits in my "oversized" movie handbag)! ;)

The other reason is because I find it more comfy at home to watch a movie than at the theater (I can lie down on the sofa if I feel like it) and no need to hide the food! Oh and also, I don't have anybody obstructing my view. :D

First, that's what I love about the Beverly Hillbillies, they remind my of my grandparents, seriously, and it was also one of my grandpa's favorite shows.

I hear you about the movies. What's sad is someone gave me a giftcard for the movies last year, and I still haven't used it. ;)

Sounds like you need a home theater :)

What??? You did not use it to go and watch the Simpsons movie???? ;)

I'm sure your son would love to go to the movies. I'm not sure if there is any kid movies showing right now.

One day I went to a furniture store. I laughed so hard when I saw the "ultimate" home theater furniture with leather sits, cup holder, food trays, remote and TV-guide holders, enormous TV. Wow, that was some serious business! :D

It's funny you mention that, because we did see the simpsons in the theater, and I brought my gift card to use, and when I get there, I used my debit out of habit. ^_^

I've seen those home theater furniture setups, they are awesome! You have to remember, we live in a day and age were people will convert spare rooms into there entertainment rooms. I have friends who have done that.

Don't think it would be fun to have a room like that? And you control what the kids watch too?

Well, it's kinda hard to control what they watch when I'm not home. I usually get home at the earliest 6:30 pm and if I go directly to the store, then around 7:30 pm. When I come home the TV is on, but nobody is in front of it. I suppose they heard me coming and they know I want their homework to be done by then, so they all run to their room, faking that they have been doing their homework for "hours". lol

The oldest is about to go in the Marines. That's his goal, for several years. I'm going to miss him. It's going to be tough to let him go. It helps to know that though he will no longer be with me, God will always be with him. I don't know what plan He has for him, but I know that that plan will come to fruition.

As the house will get emptier and emptier, I could have an entertainment room. But then, I think I'd like to participate in maybe hiking/walking groups with people my age. I like to watch TV, but after a while I get bored. I love to read too but then I feel the need to get out, do something, move. I'm definitely not a couch potatoe.

How do you like to spend your spare time?

Who do you want to see in the Super Bowl
Since the Patriots look like they are going there?

I'd like to see the Patriots playing against the Packers.

So far, the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl. Now, it's up to the Packers!

I don't know how the fans can do it to stand in the freezing cold for hours watching the game. I'd never do that for sure!

I honestly don't have a lot of spare time currently. I think that will change this year. I can't complain, it was my choice to get involved in coaching. There's not that many opportunities to have a positive impact in someone's life and having them do something fun at the same time.

I usually don't get home till after 8pm. I watch TV or play Xbox when I have time to myself. If I'm not with my son, I'm usually doing sometime soccer related, coaching or occasionally playing :)

Have I asked you if you have any hobbies?
