  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So you work 8-9-8-9-8? or 9-off-9-off, etc, the every other friday I'm clear on.

In a two-week span my hours are 9-9-9-9-8 and 9-9-9-9-0.

That should be interesting volunteering at a women's shelter. Have you done that before?

This will be my first time.

Well, I bet you're happy that your kids come home. I know I hate dropping my son off at his moms.

Not really. I'm having a nice restful winter break without the kiddos. I love it!!! :D

My favorite team is the Seattle Seahawks. I actually hope that the Gaints are able to pull off the upset. All the pro teams play on sunday, except the Patriots vs. the Giants on Saturday so everyone can see the pats for the the record.

I'm going to cheer up for the Patriots!

So do you like College Football too, and are you going to be watching the bowl games on New Years Day?

I never watch College Football. I will definitely watch the bowl games.

Enjoy the games! :D

Oh yeaaaah, oh yeaaaah, oh yeaaaah, the Redskins won 27-6 against the Cowboys!!!!!!

YOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ^_^
Seahawks vs Redskins in Seattle next Saturday.
4:30 EST

Stop Portis and then Collins has to throw. Hey, we play in the NFC West, we're used to teams that throw.

So after that, the Seahawks will play Green Bay ;) The Redskins should be a good matchup.

My kids were gone to Canada for Christmas to visit their father's sister. I spent Christmas alone at home, as my parents and sister live in France. One lady at work knew I would not get any presents so she bought me one before we got off from work. It was the only gift I had and it was a very nice necklace. God is good!

What about you, how was your Christmas? :D

I didn't post on Saturday cuz I didn't want to rub it in, but I told you the Hawks were tough at home.

We even tried to help you out in the 4th, but then our defense, who was quiet during the 3rd quarter, came up with some big plays.

Speaking of tough, now we travel to Green Bay, who's been playing as well as anyone (minus the Pats), and that huge homefield advantage they have.

Other then that, how was your weekend?

LOL

So you are basically saying that if the Redskins were leading till the beginning of the 4th quarter that is because the Seahawks were letting them?!?

That is the typical answer of a biased fan!!!! ;)

Anyway, you should have seen me jumping and screaming, and being all exuberant, til the last 7 minutes of the 4th quarter. Right after the game I decided to cool off by going to the store. Then I watched the Steelers game and was shocked that they did not make it.

Which teams do you think are going to get all the way to the Super bowl?

Apart from the football excitement, my weekend was nice and quiet. The weather is so mild. We are getting into the 60F today and near 70F tomorrow. This is unbelievable.

We had snow yesterday, but it didn't stick.

Logically, If I run through the break downs in my head, I'd go with the winner of the Green Bay - Seattle game, and tough to go against the Pats, but the Jags are a very interesting matchup against the Pats.

My head says logically it's Green Bay vs Pats, but not a lock in my mind. I think the way Hawks playing, and the matchups lend to some upsets.

I wish my son was more into football, oh well.

So who would you like to see in the Super Bowl?

How old is your son? At least he likes soccer, right?

My youngest who will be 11 in February used to play soccer and like it, but now he wants to play football. He likes the rough side of it. I guess next year, as he will go to Middle School, he can start. The thing is that he is small for his age and he'll be tossed easily. The only thing that might be to his advantage is that he runs very fast. A lean, mean, running machine! :D

Well, I'd like to see the Patriots in the Super Bowl, the other team doesn't matter to me, ........ as long as it's not the Seehawks!!! (*ducks*)

My son is 8. He loves soccer and is better at it then I was at his age, but he's not as competitive as I was. I think I'm going to give it another year before I have him play competitive level soccer.

Your son is 11 next month? Have you thought about sending him to speed training? If he's already fast, he could probably be much faster, and get him to develop good running habits early.

Ironically, I don't want to see the Pats in the Super Bowl, and I think they will have their hands full this weekend. The Jags match up really well with the Pats.

So what are the sports your sons play?

They love to swim and one of them want to take tennis at school next year. The youngest one also like to ice skate but does not like ice hockey.

I'll check with the speed training as you mentioned, however, every time I go with my two youngest sons to the track at a school to walk, the youngest likes to take his bike and does not want to either walk or run for an hour.

Which football teams are playing this weekend?

Games this weekend:
Green Bay vs Hawks
Jaguars vs Pats
Chargers vs Colts
Cowboys vs Giants

Should be some really good games. Good matchups. Naturally, I've voting for the Hawks, but some great matchups will make for some great games.

Big plans for the weekend?

Every time I watch LOTR and Star Wars - I love them. I'm kind of a dork at times, I can get lost in a good fantasy - Sci Fi flick, but honestly, not a huge fan of the genre, I prefer Comedies and Action.

That being said, I watched Pirates III with my new Blu-Ray player, and the detail of the new High Def Movies are amazing!

So what's your favorite movie (I don't recall asking this), and your favorite movie genre?
