  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, not really. I am not looking forward to the hot temperatures. Right now it's perfect with temperatures in the 60s and low 70s. Also, the kids are kept busy at school. I plan on putting them in a camp. They love it. Unfortunately it cannot be for too long. We'll see.

What about you, any plans for the summer?
Work, I just started a new position, but I'm not going to take time away from my son. Maybe go camping and fishing. Play soccer, ride my bike.

You ready for summer?

Yes, I guess I am. I already asked for some weeks off in June and in August. I will probably drive around with the kids. They want to go to Pennsylvania to see the Constitution Hall and the Liberty Bell. We'll probably go to Six Flags in Maryland and maybe to King's Dominion in Virginia. The rest of the time we'll take it easy. I will pamper myself when they are at camp. The oldest is getting ready to go in the Army. That should be an eventful summer. :D

Wow, sounds like you have an exciting summer plans. I don't have any set in stone, but at least now I know my boss is open to them. My son would love Six Flags. Wait, you're from Maryland, so is it fairly close? Don't know what the King's Dominion is.

You getting nervous about you kid going to the Army? My aunt was proud and nervous.

Any Memorial Weekend plans?

Oh, I had a fantastic time. :D

On Sunday after church I went with some friends to the restaurant for lunch. After that we went to the movies to see "Prince Caspian". It was great! On Monday I went to our church picnic and had a lot of fun. After the picnic I was invited to a BBQ. It was so relaxing and the kids enjoyed my friends' swimming pool. It was hard to go home that evening knowing that the next day was a working day.

I also have mixed feelings about it. I believe the discipline will be good for my son but I also pray that God will keep him safe wherever he will be sent.

By the way, one of my son, after he graduates from High School, wants to live in Washington State and is asking me to follow him. Do you have any advice as to which areas are better job wise and neighborhood wise?

You know I do, but there's lots of variables. How far are you willing to commute? What's more important? An area that a little more expensive, but closer or an area that less expensive, still friendly, but has more traffic, things like that, and where's you son going to be as compared to where you want to leave.

Given the little I know, I think I have some ideas. And yes, we'll take the other kids into account.
