  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, we live in a townhouse and the roof is pretty high such that if anybody falls from it, that's it, you join the world on the other side. LOL

I guess it's not worth it.
Well, I guess we don't want that.

Any Christmas Traditions?

The few traditions I have are egg nog, classic Christmas movies (It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St., A Christmas Carol..), opening gifts on Christmas morning. I think that's it, the rest is left to whatever is decided at the moment. I wish snow was a tradition, lol. I love to have a white Christmas.

What about your Christmas traditions?
- Christmas morning with the family
- Always watch: A Christmas Carol (different versions, fav is 1951 version), Scrooged, Christmas Vacation, White Christmas, Frosty, Rudolph, Santa Claus is coming to town, Charlie Brown Christmas, Grinch, and a few others.
- get my tree up the day after thanksgiving.
- Make hot spiced cider
- and gain weight (Uffda!), especially after injuring foot and not getting enough exercise.

after that, my christmas varies.

So, do you have a most memorial present?

I'm sorry for your injury. Did you do it while playing soccer? I hope you'll feel better soon. Just take it easy and enjoy your homemade spiced cider. I never made mine. I just buy mine at the store.

The best present I ever had was a bicycle. My first bicycle. The real thing, without training wheels! I remember how happy I was. I've never been so happy to get a gift than when I got that bicycle.

What was your memorial present?

One of my most memorable was a car toy (that would wined up and take off). I wanted it so bad, and my mom didnt want to get it cuz she knew I'd get sick of it quickly, but she decided to surprize me and get the toy, and I played with it for 2 days, and she was right.

Yes, 90 percent of my injuries in the last 20 years had involved soccer, maybe cuz I play so much. ;) I finally went to the DR for the injury and now he thinks I should see a specialist, story of my life, weird injuries.

Btw, I bought the cider from the store, but then added the spices, yum!

What you're favorite thing to make, and what turns out the best. Like my grandma used to love to cook, but her bread always was the best (most of her food, let's just say the dog was well fed).

I'm guessing you can't wait for the Soccer World Cup. I usually only watch the games with France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, UK, and Argentina. I love to watch it and I wish it was an annual thing. Four years to wait is far too long!

My favorite dish to make and eat, that most people love, is spinach quiche. It's delish! :yum:

Four years is a long time, but that's part of the build up that makes it so exciting, you have to wait 4 more years to redeem yourself.

Good example, this last world cup was big because Brian McBride already said he is retiring from WC play, and he's many Americans favorite national player (I love that guy, plays with great passion).

You need to start following the Americans. Many more Americans are playing in the English and German leagues, so the level of play is rising.

Btw, what spices do you add to your cider?
Cinnamon, allspice and cloves (just a little) and orange peels if I have any (for the wassail effect). Sometimes I buy the packets if I'm lazy with all that in it, and let is simmer for a few hours.

Humm, sounds good.

Well, being french I am still cheering for France (though last time I was shocked and ashamed by Zidane's action).

My favorite is egg nog, but it's always too heavy for me so I can't drink much of it. Instead I drink apple cider and champagne on Christmas day.

The only Christmas food I'm looking forward to eat is the Bûche de Noël. I found a great French bakery nearby and have ordered one for Christmas. The rest of the meal, turkey, ham, green beans, candied potatoes, ... is okay but not my favorite.

What about you? Are you going to cook on Christmas day? What drink and dish are you look forward to eat that day?

Like Quiche, I wondered if you were French.

Well, it wasn't smart, but by now you've heard what was said that made him upset  I love France's style of play, but they frustrate me because sometimes they're soft, even appears to me that they'll dive to draw the foul.

Sounds delicious!

Well, being Norwegian, we have lutefisk every year, but make it special, cuz only a few of us eat it. I'm not making anything special on Christmas, I'll let my mom do that. We'll probably do a ham, maybe we'll do a turkey. I'll probably make the cider, since I do a better job then my mom (I think).

BTW, I forgot to mention this, but sometimes if the cider still seems a little bland after you add the spices, throw in a little wine and that will bring out the spices a little. I usually don't have the problem, but I'll add a little wine anyway ;)

So I saw what countries you visited, so what place was your favorite place to visit, and where do you want to go next?

LOL, I'll try.

I think Greece was the most memorable place I've seen. It looked so different from the rest of the countries I've visited. The Acropolis in Athens was amazing. I also will never forget the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii in Italy. Seeing these two places seemed like touching history, like a magical moment of going back in the past. I am so glad that my father loved to travel and took us to these places.

Now that I live in the US, I miss being closer to other foreign countries. I love to travel but traveling from the US is so expensive. Maybe one day .....

Being from Norway, you might understand what I'm talking about.
