  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My turn!!

What are 5 habits you're glad you have and 5 you wish you didn't?

5 that I'm glad I have.

1. Daily prayer.
2. Regimented day.
3. Smiling.
4. Reading (is that a habit?)
5. Reading the Word.

5 that I'm not so glad about.

1. Regimented day.
2. Coke addiction (the wet kind ;))
3. Being glued in front of the tv when Survivor is on (yeah baby, first episode tonight )
4. Not listening to music.
5. Speeding (even working for DSP hasn't helped me get out of speeding tickets )

What movie have you seen over and over again? What's the appeal?

There are 4 that I routinely watch over and over...

1. Gone with the Wind - I love the sweet romance and the sad reality that sometimes what we think we have...we don't.
2. The Wizard of Oz - since my youth has been one of my favorites. Ok, so this is the one that I know by heart and when you see it with me...I sing along and sometimes (not all the time) say the words when they are saying them. The deeper part of this movie is appreciating what you have when you have it.
3. The Green Mile - I read the books first and loved them, this is probably the best rendition of one of Stephen King's books to a movie. Sad, funny at times sweet. Some of the things in the movie/book point back to a deeper faith of Stephen King that most people don't realize. John Coffey one of the main characters has the gift of healing and his initials are the same as Jesus Christ. I usually can't watch it when he is executed...I cry.
4. The Passion of the Christ - I saw this film the first day it came out...was smart enough to take a man's hankerchief instead of just tissues. It was deeply moving to me then as it is now. To think that my God went through everything He went through for me...blows my mind.

It's a little fuzzy but I wanted you to see where I was tonight when we were talking. I'll take you there. It's a place called Warwick on the Indian River. Quiet and peaceful.

Could you describe the people in your life who are easiest to get along with and those who are the most difficult.

The easiest people in my life to get along with are the ones that agree with everything I say...*wakes up* Oh yeah right...must have been dreaming there. ^_^ The easiest people in my life to get along with are those that aren't disagreable. It doesn't bother me to disagree with someone but they don't have to be so darn hateful about it.

The most difficult...people that argue for the sake of arguing. I really don't like that.
