Old Spice (smells like my Daddy did)

I like that a man wears cologne or just a hint of soap smell on him. I like the smell of baby powder too ;)

So do you wear cologne?
Not every day at present. It's a matter of do I think of it or not. When I was dating, I'd wear it on date days and not on other days. (I do wear it if I miss a shower  - this usually means that I would have had one that I might not have "needed" but ran short on time).

What do you think of relationship counseling? Do you think it is helpful when a couple encounters obstacles to navigate? Do you think that a healthy relationship would benefit from occasional counseling sessions?
How about marriage encounter or marriage enrichment weekends? Do you think that they are valuable in general? Do you think they are helpful to already-healthy marriages?

You've mentioned "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". What other books or articles on marriage and relationships have you read?

The Proper care and feeding of husbands by Dr. Laura Schlessinger
Mean girls all grown up by Hayley DiMarco
Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge
Wild at Heart by John Eldredge
It's not about me by Max Lucado
For women only by Shaunti Feldhahn

That's my list so far. I think I learned more about relationships by Dr. Laura's book. The others were more about me as a woman or how a man thinks. The Wild at Heart was a "man's" book but found it very interesting.

I think relationship counseling can be helpful during times of trouble. I think that any help that can be sought when you are going through rough times as opposed to divorcing is something that I would be interested in. A healthy relationship may be helped to become even more heathy with counseling.
Marriage enrichment weekends are very good. I attended one a few years ago. Those boundaries guys...well one of them Townsend, I can never think of his first name. We had homework to do.
Mentors or counselors that have been married for years would be beneficial. I think they must be Christian.

What areas in your life must you control? What areas would you prefer to control?

I must have control of my own body. What goes in it and what happens to it. I pray to God that until I die or He comes I'll have a keen mind and that I'll be able to control myself.

I prefer to have control over my household (unless I'm married). With the girls the age they are...control has slipped out of my hands.

I had a counselor tell me I was a "controlling" person. I think that above all, you should know this. Am I still like this...to an extent, yes. I'm not as extreme as I used to be. I wish to relinquish control to the head of the house. It was just I haven't had a head of the house since my Dad.

My house is not sparse to say the least. There are books in every room (under my bed too). As far as being a pack rat, I'm not normally one even though it may look like I am. The reason behind that is...no time to get rid of anything. I work every day except Sunday and I don't like doing much on Sunday but church, nap and cook/eat. Sentimental souveniers...a few.

It's cluttered but not so bad to need a path ^_^
