No. I know! I can travel through time and see the events unfold. What I do not know one way or the other for sure is why and how exactly the laws will be different to allow what we see! But my guess is better than any from science! really. I must humbly confess that.

In other words you cannot give us any testable prediction. All hot air as always.

Time travel happens all the time. Travel in an aeroplane, for example, and you will find that fractionally less time has elapsed for you than others on the ground. This has been shown experimentally.

The GPS satellites in orbit (travelling at several thousand miles per hour) have to account for this time dilation in their calculations when sending us information. If they didn't, their information about our position would be way off.

Get in a rocket and travel near to the speed of light for, say, a year. You'll come back to Earth to discover than many many years had passed on Earth.

So time travel (into the future at least) is certainly possible. :)

I'm familiar with these experiments. The small differences in the clock on the plane vs. the one on the ground doesn't prove a thing. It's simply an anomaly that we observe. We don't know why it happens, it just does. Be very careful about assuming an unexplainable small result proves something that is unprecedented, in science.

We have a theory which predicts that it will happen, it predicts by how much it will happen, we have experimental results that show that it does happen and to the degree predicted...

... and this doesn't count as support for the theory? Please.

Not sure what your comprehension failed to grasp with the things you quoted me in the link. Apparently you thought some great effort was required to 'prove' the obvious and well known basic realities and facts of science, such as the revolving or rotating of earth. I do not happen to share that idea, but chose to accept science on that.

To claim you got some victory or that I suffered some defeat with that petty nonsense merely shows a disconnect from reality.

Let me know when you reconnect. :)

You watch a lot of movies? So what would happen, the men in black would time travel to when you were posting and zap you? You seem to indicate you know something. I really do not believe that the military folks could go back in time, and shoot Paul. Sorry. Give us a break.

This is why time travel has been romanticized and labeled as impossible - especially retrograde travel. You cannot prevent the inevitable.

You may think you can go back in time, and prevent a war, or kill a tyrant, but in reality you are - and have always been an active member of allowing the inevitable to happen.

The main reason why you cannot go back or forward in time to prevent things is because time is not an actual thing. It is for convenience. One second is nine billion hyper fine transitions in a cesium-133 atom. It is an evolution of events.

EVERYTHING that will happen has already happened. Everything. "Time travel" is really just event travel. Time is a man-made construct. You go back in time to prevent WWII, only to realize through a series of events you actually had a hand in WWII coming to pass.

You seem to be saying that they have convinced you they can really time travel, but that it really doesn't work for beans anyhow. Why would they kill you even if that was true!?
I can't agree that man can manipulate any nature but some bits of this temporal one we live in. I also know there are strict limits to even that. Relax. God is in control.

Because I am speaking about softly classified details. If I were to provide proof then I would, on fact, be killed. Public incredulity is one of the most powerful cover-up tactics. Why would they hire a contractor to kill me when I can post things here with no proof and be ridiculed? Plausible deniability. And, as long as I just talk, I am OK.

Men can manipulate plenty of nature - it has happened since Genesis 3. There exists real mages, witches, psionics, warlocks, and people with x-men powers. There are black budgets devoted to finding these type of people and further developing their "powers." The movie "The Men Who Stare At Goats" is Hollywood's way of telling the truth. (You do know Holly Wood is the wood that magicians use for encantations, right?)

God is certainly in control. And, He also allows all of His hosts and creation to do what they want to do according to the measure of the leashes He puts on them. But let's not forget even the enemy can change into an entity of light.

This "religion," or whatever we call it today is more than 3-D, and more than human. There are some awesome things that happen, and the erroneous stuff is certainly manipulation of nature.

BUT, it is all futility. Most practitioners don't realize that until it is too late, but it is all futility.

I also would like to know why you atheists come to a Christian board? Do you folks have nothing else to do? I really would like answers.
Dad was posting on other (science/astronomy/sceptical) sites and inviting others to come here and engage him in discussion. Here I am, and you saw one of our earlier exchanges a few pages ago.

Why stay? There certainly is entertainment value, but it all seriousness I get more out of discussing things with those that do not agree with me that those that don't. The in-laws are religious and it is a lot less awkward working out these subjects here than with family. :)

The words God spoke about the future that transport us there for a good look have been tested. They work. Most prophesy is now history.

If you could really time travel, in the flesh, who says you could not have the free will to do what you chose? John traveled into the future and saw things, but also interacted with angels, and chatted.
EVERYTHING that will happen has already happened. Everything.

So I already wrote this post long ago?? I think someone sold you a bill of goods.

"Time travel" is really just event travel. Time is a man-made construct. You go back in time to prevent WWII, only to realize through a series of events you actually had a hand in WWII coming to pass.

That makes no sense. Time is not man made. Animals experience time also. Atoms decay according to time. Time is quite real. I do not think anyone can stop poverty and wars. Why would they think they could?? Little man like to try to play God.

Because I am speaking about softly classified details. If I were to provide proof then I would, on fact, be killed. Public incredulity is one of the most powerful cover-up tactics. Almost sounds like you believe it. I doubt that countries can time travel. I could see possibly bending time on a battlefield a few seconds or something, but not real time travel. Not where a man actually goes way back or forward to many years away. Even if Satan and/or demons could travel in time to some extent, they would be limited as to what they could do in any time! God's angels outnumber them, and anything the dark side can do, God's side can do better!

No. I didn't know that about the holly wood. However God's magic is much much much much greater! The wise men and magicians were here in Daniel's day and in Moses day etc.

God is certainly in control. And, He also allows all of His hosts and creation to do what they want to do according to the measure of the leashes He puts on them. But let's not forget even the enemy can change into an entity of light.
So what? That doesn't fool the saved and spirit filled folks. That light is like a little dim flashlight, compared to the lightening of God's light!

This "religion," or whatever we call it today is more than 3-D, and more than human. There are some awesome things that happen, and the erroneous stuff is certainly manipulation of nature.

Sounds like you believe in spirits.

The teensy fraction of a fraction of a second that the time difference represents actually is not significant to a human life span. I do not think that the guy worried that he was going to get assassinated if he revealed time travel details was thinking about that, if he was serious.

John really travelled thousands of real years into a real future and really saw things there and heard things and felt things, and spoke to angels etc.

This thread is ... amusing??? A laugh track would help it.

Being fairly new to this board I don't understand the point of this thread? I mean dad, why did you make it? I get the feeling you knew there are a bunch of atheists here who would disagree with you.

They may disagree that John traveled through time, but they sure can't offer any proof!
I also would like to know why you atheists come to a Christian board? Do you folks have nothing else to do? I really would like answers.
Maybe some are secretly hungry for truth. Maybe they thought Christians might have some to share. Others are here on a mission for the dark side to try to stumble weak believers and sow doubt...etc.

I'm always amazed by the faith atheists have in their beliefs. I mean the ones of which there is no proof at all, and even very little evidence. Time and time travel are examples. You atheists don't seem to realize dad wasn't saying he could really time travel. Curious.
I really can time travel. The words of God reveal things in the past and future. By reading them and trying to have a believing heart, one can see the future...glimpses of the actual future. That seems to be time travel to me.
dad is right in that even if time was real, God would never allow puny man to travel through it. This idea also came to me, back in the old days, when I still thought time was a reality, and computers were still the size of 2 rooms. They were so big, and all they could do were some basic calculations. Wowee. Now sure has changed. :D

See ya'all.
Time is a reality. Gravity too.

It's not simply an anomaly as you claim. It is predicted and observed time and time again by experiments. It's not unprecedented at all - we see it every day.

The GPS system would fail completely if we didn't allow for this time effect when making the calculations.

What about the fact the GPS system has to figure in this changing passage of time in order to correctly make calculations?

Who says it is inevitable? death is inevitable, but Jesus saved us from it.

Inevitability is inevitability. Do you think we are making our history as we go?

I am not taking about death; I am talking about inevitability.

How would someone go back in time...physically?

Going back in time is an illusion. Physically, you would manipulate magnetic and electric fields. But, as I said, you cannot escape the inevitable.

That's what you think. I say time is real. For us it is real. For light moving in space it is real. If you could really time travel, in the flesh, who says you could not have the free will to do what you chose? John traveled into the future and saw things, but also interacted with angels, and chatted.

The definition of a second is what I said - nine billion hyper fine transitions in a Cesium-133 atom. That is the definition of a second, not mine.

I keep saying you cannot escape the inevitable. John did exactly what he was supposed to do - the temporal perspective is not important. Everything that happens is supposed to happen exactly how it happens.

So I already wrote this post long ago?? I think someone sold you a bill of goods.

The problem is you think time is real. It is an illusion. Everything has already happened.

Those of us that are sensitive to "time" tend to believe in duality. "Either, or." "This, or that."

You have already lived, died and gone to your spiritual destination. You have already done everything you will do. This is why the "free will" argument is erroneous, because our will is bounded by God's will - and He sees everything as it is, not with temporal goggles. How do you think prophecy works?

That makes no sense. Time is not man made. Animals experience time also. Atoms decay according to time. Time is quite real. I do not think anyone can stop poverty and wars. Why would they think they could?? Little man like to try to play God.

Atoms don't decay according to time. They decay according to energy flux. The definition of a second is man made, and has had several different definitions over "time."

Poverty and wars don't stop because there is too much money to be made on the exploitation of these things. That is a political issue; it isn't a time issue.

Animals experience an evolution of events. Why do you think the running joke of a dog worried it's master left forever has any cultural merit? Animals perceive events. Human made time. God put the stars and celestials in the sky for to be a "sign, and season" for us - an evolution of events. Look up the definition of the SI unit for the second. It Is an made, and has been changed over years.

Almost sounds like you believe it. I doubt that countries can time travel.

They count on that doubt.

I could see possibly bending time on a battlefield a few seconds or something, but not real time travel.

So, you have set limits on time travel. That is your doing; it doesnt mean that there are limits, or that your limits are the range allowed.

Not where a man actually goes way back or forward to many years away. Even if Satan and/or demons could travel in time to some extent, they would be limited as to what they could do in any time!

Says who? You? You are a meat sack with an "on loan" spirit from Messiah; you have no idea what angels - even fallen angels - are capable of.

God's angels outnumber them, and anything the dark side can do, God's side can do better!

Numbers don't mean anything. We are talking about temporal translation, not a war of numbers.

God categorically does all things better, but that doesn't mean the very powerful and knowledgeable hostsHe created are limp, and impotent.

If God allows us to do exploits, surely His [former] hosts can also do exploits.

I get the feeling you haven't seen extraordinary things. You seem to put some restrictive limits on what humans and spirits are capable of. That is a mistake; our enemy has many tricks that work especially well when humans grow incredulous, and doubtful. You don't have to be in awe of these entities, but you should know your enemy.

No. I didn't know that about the holly wood. However God's magic is much much much much greater! The wise men and magicians were here in Daniel's day and in Moses day etc.

Of course His "magic" is greater. But, that doesn't mean you have to be ignorant of other entities practicing magick. You need to know your enemy, and not underestimate it - which is what you are doing.

So what? That doesn't fool the saved and spirit filled folks. That light is like a little dim flashlight, compared to the lightening of God's light!

It has, and will fool plenty of people, especially those who underestimate their enemy. Otherwise, there would be no need for the warning.

It is easy to put an ember next to an LED light, and gauge which is brighter. But, when you are in a dark room, even a candlelight seems exceedingly luminous.

YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR ENEMY. And, you are greatly underestimating the enemy.

Sounds like you believe in spirits.

Don't you? You should, as it is spoken about in abundance in the bible.

No idea what you are talking about. Believing in Jesus is anything but futile.

I didn't say belief in Christ was futility. I said avoiding inevitability is futility, especially by trying to temporally translate yourself.

Right, and as I said that time difference is too small to matter in a human life span. That can't be compared to John being taken up to see the future, or any sort of time travel in a real way.

Inevitability is inevitability. Do you think we are making our history as we go?
Yes. If the we means you and me. Our history is determined by how we receive Jesus. The history of mankind is just playing out all the choices and consequences, and learning lessons from God for some of us, etc.

I am not taking about death; I am talking about inevitability. Jesus did not come here to die in a world where man had no real choice and everything was 'inevitable'! He is greater than inevitable.

Going back in time is an illusion. Physically, you would manipulate magnetic and electric fields. But, as I said, you cannot escape the inevitable.
Your time travel may be an illusion, that is fine. God's ain't! It is real.

The definition of a second is what I said - nine billion hyper fine transitions in a Cesium-133 atom. That is the definition of a second, not mine.
That is merely a marking of the process of time on earth in this soon to no longer exist temporal state.
I keep saying you cannot escape the inevitable.
Yes I can! It's fun.

John did exactly what he was supposed to do - the temporal perspective is not important. Everything that happens is supposed to happen exactly how it happens.

John was shown the future. It was only inevitable in the sense that that was how the future really was, so how could anyone change it?? If Hitler had gotten saved, then history would not be as it was. Maybe there would have been some other bad guy, but we do have real choices.

The reason that war and etc is inevitable is sin.

The problem is you think time is real. It is an illusion. Everything has already happened.
No. It is happening as we speak! It just happens that God is outside of our time limits, so He can be in the future too. When He says how it will be, it is absolutely certain and every bit as good as if He was there in the future, because He is! Even the devil knows that Scripture must be fulfilled.

Those of us that are sensitive to "time" tend to believe in duality. "Either, or." "This, or that."
We all live in time...face it. God set it up.
You have already lived, died and gone to your spiritual destination.
Baloney.

That sounds more like Hindu mysticism than reality.
You have already done everything you will do.
Rubbish. I ain't quite done here yet.

This is why the "free will" argument is erroneous, because our will is bounded by God's will - and He sees everything as it is, not with temporal goggles. How do you think prophecy works?
Not like you think.

Atoms don't decay according to time. They decay according to energy flux. The definition of a second is man made, and has had several different definitions over "time."

It takes so much time for atoms to do what they do. They are bound by time. There is no energy without time here!

Poverty and wars don't stop because there is too much money to be made on the exploitation of these things. That is a political issue; it isn't a time issue.
No it is a sin issue, and even sin takes time!
Animals experience an evolution of events.
No. They can experience love and find a purpose from God in many cases.

Why do you think the running joke of a dog worried it's master left forever has any cultural merit? Animals perceive events. Human made time.

A dog lives so many years. That means time. It can have a baby. That means time. Etc. You cannot simply declare time is not real.

God put the stars and celestials in the sky for to be a "sign, and season" for us - an evolution of events. Look up the definition of the SI unit for the second. It Is an made, and has been changed over years.
That is all a matter of opinion! My current opinion of the function of stars is that they may have been set there to regulate time for earth in a real way by God. But as I say, it is all opinion at this point.

They count on that doubt.
That's their problem.
So, you have set limits on time travel. That is your doing; it doesnt mean that there are limits, or that your limits are the range allowed.

That means nothing. You have not defined your so called time travel, and do not even so much as believe in time!!! Rather than an actual man going someplace in time you seem to be talking about some drugged out occult illusion.
Says who? You? You are a meat sack with an "on loan" spirit from Messiah; you have no idea what angels - even fallen angels - are capable of.
Look who's talking! I have plenty of idea because God spilled the beans in the bible. Don't presume to speak for me when you pass out the ignorant buttons.
Numbers don't mean anything. We are talking about temporal translation, not a war of numbers.
Numbers don't mean anything either? Time isn't real according to you. Get a grip man.
God categorically does all things better, but that doesn't mean the very powerful and knowledgeable hostsHe created are limp, and impotent.
Strawman. Whos said anything about limp stars? You need to get a grip.

If God allows us to do exploits, surely His [former] hosts can also do exploits.
False. What is allowed and good for the saved goose is not allowed for the demon gander in many many cases. Period. There are rules.

One way to know truth or lies is looking to God's word. Your vague ideas fall short so far. You also seem to fear the boogy man will sneak in and shoot you if you post the wrong thing. Whatever you think you know that is so cool and dangerous, may actually be mostly hot air and deception. God has not given us a spirit of fear.

Of course His "magic" is greater. But, that doesn't mean you have to be ignorant of other entities practicing magick. You need to know your enemy, and not underestimate it - which is what you are doing.
Hey the mickey mouse club can practice whatever they want. They do theirs, and I'll do mine. Do not expect me to bow when I walk by some so called magicians or wise men. They are the ones who need to tip their hat when we come by.

It has, and will fool plenty of people, especially those who underestimate their enemy. Otherwise, there would be no need for the warning.
What warning from who??

It is easy to put an ember next to an LED light, and gauge which is brighter. But, when you are in a dark room, even a candlelight seems exceedingly luminous.

With the Light of the world in our hearts, we need not be too impressed by little led lights in a dark room actually.
YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR ENEMY. And, you are greatly underestimating the enemy.

Relax. We all need to know Jesus, and let the enemies go to hell. Not rocket science that.

Don't you? You should, as it is spoken about in abundance in the bible.

I didn't say belief in Christ was futility. I said avoiding inevitability is futility, especially by trying to temporally translate yourself.
I do not try to translate myself, relax. However, I also realize that the word of God does lift the veil of time for us to some extent. We are more than conquerors with Christ, and destined to rule forever with Him. We are safe in His hands, and no enemy can take us out. Ever. Men should fear God, not some silly fallen angels or whatnots.
