This is my testimony in my words. Yes there will be some technical words in there. But I am going to try to explain this in words we all understand. I may not can explain it in doctors terms so well. But I know that my God is so awesome, powerful, and a marvelous healer. All praise goes to him.
When I was ten months old I was visiting my grandparents' house and fell off my rocking horse. This was the beginning off me having over 2,000 strokes. The strokes came from a disease called Moya Moya.
Moya Moya is a very rare disease and it only occurs one in every 100, 000 people. Moya Moya is a japanese word and it means "puff of smoke".
At the time of my diagnoses Moya Moya was just being discovered in America. I was the first known case of Moya Moya. In Japan every person that had been diagnosed with Moya Moya had not lived to be thirteen years old.
I can remember as a child always hearing doctors tell my parents that they should not expect me to live. That nobody with Moya Moya had ever lived to be thirteen years old.
Moya Moya affects the blood vessels in the brain. I basically had no blood vessels in my brain. They were totally closed off. In the words of the pediatric neurosurgery - it is a disorder of uncertain cause that leads to the irreversible blockages of the main blood vessels as they enter the brain. The naming is due to the apperance of lesions on a angiogram.
The lesions tend to affect children and adults in the third and fourth decades of life. In children it causes strokes or seizures. In adults it causes brain bleeding or strokes. Once the process of blockage begins it tends to continue despite any medical management. Unless treated with surgery. The repeated strokes can lead to severe impairment or even death. With the blockages to the blood vessels in the brain. The brain can not get the needed blood and oxygen it needs to survive.
Doctors always told me that I would never live to be thirteen years old. God had other plans. God knew that he would get all the glory. My family had faith and beleived that God was going to heal me. God stopped me from having strokes at the age of ten years old.
The strokes left my whole right side of my body paralyzed. My face was paralyzed and for many years I had a hard time swallowing. I would druel a lot. My right arm was totally useless. My right hand had no mobility. My fingers on my right hand were turned in and reached my wrist. They were unbendable. My right hand was 4 inches shorter than my left hand.
Everytime that I had a stroke I would go blind. My eyes would roll back in my head and I would lose my sight.
After God stopped me from having strokes at the age of ten. Which was a miracle. Since I was told that I would never live unless I had brain surgery. The brain surgery would not stop me from having strokes but would slow down the amount of strokes I would have.
Once God grew me new blood vessels in my brain and stopped the strokes from happening without the surgery. This was only part one of God's great healing plan for my life.
When I was twenty four God began to prepare me for the healing that would make medical history. God prepared me for a whole year. He began to show me scriptures on healing. He was feeding my faith. God knew He was about to do what the medical community said was impossible.
God showed me several scriptures on healing. He showed me the scriptures in Luke 6:10. " And looking around about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as other."
One night God said it is time for you to be healed. So I went to the altar that night at church. I was annointed with oil. Fell out in the spirit. God began to unbend my fingers. As he was doing this everybody began to see God grow my fingers out perfectly straight. He began to grow my fingers to be the same size as my left hand. When asked what it felt like. The best way I can describe it is. It felt like a heat went from my head to my toes. It felt like God was there messaging my fingers.
Four years later when I went in for a cat scan . I found out how miracously God had healed me. The doctor sat there and told me that there was absolutely no proof that I had ever had a stroke a day in my life. To God be the glory.
I guess you can say that I am a walking, talking, testifying miracle. I once was blind but now I see. I once walked with a limp but now I run for the glory of the Lord. I once could not not speak. But now I praise him for all He has done. I once could not write. But now I write my testimony every chance I get to bring glory to his holy name.
Some day I would like to be able to go to other churches and give my testimony. It definetely will be in the book.
