Incidentally, Kylie, why aren't you trying to technokill this passage, when I mentioned it?

Isaiah 34:4a And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll:

How do you roll a three dimensional space up like a scroll without a fourth dimension to roll it into?

Let me guess.

Isaiah was wrong, wasn't he?

The obvious answer is that it's metaphor.

It seems that your "literal interpretation only" position has left you myopic, to borrow one of your favorite words.

Once again, just so you won't understand further:

Paul mentions four dimensions of space.

I did not say Paul mentions THE four dimensions of space.

I said Paul mentions four dimensions of space.

(Not that it will make any difference to someone who is determined to think otherwise.)

Ah, so the Bible literally mentions only four dimensions of space (even though you admitted that two of them are actually the same thing, so there's only three), therefore anything else is FICTION, as you established in THIS post.

The obvious answer is that it's metaphor.
What a coincidence!

The Bible uses metaphor for what scientists are just discovering today!

I wonder what metaphor this was talking about:

Job 38:35 Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?

I'm sure you will say that it's talking about wireless communication, but my phone doesn't shoot lightning bolts. If yours does, I'd suggest you take it to a repair center, coz that ain't normal!

Or maybe it's just a case of you reading into the Bible what you want it to say.

Amazing that God can speak in metaphor back then what He plans to have revealed later, isn't it?

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Daniel 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

So we are agreed. Your claim that the Bible is consistent with eleven dimensions of space is wrong because that's just supposition on your part and thus is fiction.
^_^

I hope you didn't wake hubby up to tell him this!

Or it's just people writing things and then people later on deciding it must have some greater meaning and so they read into it far more than the original authors ever meant.

^_^

First of all, why would I wake him up to tell him that I've pointed out an inconsistency in your position. You've got so many of them it's hardly surprising.

Secondly, it's 4pm over here. My husband is not asleep.

Well from the time it was written down, to the time people "read into it," I would surmise God raised up scientists to discover these "Easter eggs."

Why are you so anti-science now; that you can't give scientists credit for doing the work God wants them to do?

How do you not see how circular that argument is?

For the second time, he used real existing planes of existence to do it.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.

But if there's no such a thing as a wall, then what Humpty Dumpty is doing won't make sense.
As I read it, he used common mystical expressions to describe mystical Love.

I'm curious, lamb ... truly honestly curious:

Do you have a college degree? if so, may I ask in what field?

Unfortunately, though I have a lot of college courses under my belt, because they were from different universities they were never brought together for a degree. I'm in IT and so focused on Computer Science.

Why do you ask?

Because I can't get a light bulb to come on, and I was just wondering what area of academics is blocking your understanding.

Well ... you're correct there.

I don't see a circular argument in there.
You're assuming that it was started by God in order to show that it was started by God.

Surely you've been told enough about circular arguments by now to recognise one...

I [made] an apple butter sandwich. My sandwich is part of the Universe.

Question: In this act, did I [make] the Universe?

No. You made a sandwich—and sandwich ≠ universe.

You are free to think as much as you like. All that I'm saying is that the question can be correctly answered prima fascie.

There is a correct answer?

I created a apple butter sandwich. My sandwich is part of the Universe.

Question: In this act, did I create the Universe?
Carl Sagan said, "If you wish to create an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe", so, assuming an apple butter sandwich can substitute for an apple pie, and assuming you created it from scratch, then possibly yes... otherwise no.

I misread this as your courses were from "different universes", which seemed appposite for the thread. :)
