  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My letter to Nancy Pelosi - would you join me in sending one yourself.

that would be off topic. Wouldn’t it?
But feel free to open a thread with your letter to him.

I thought the topic was our congresscritters getting back to work... surely McConnell needs the message as much as anyone else...

Pelosi is the one sitting on bi artisan legislation that would easily pass. Like the trade deal with Canada and Mexico.

seems like impeachment has taken the place of legislation.

What makes you think that USMCA is bipartisan and would easily pass without negotiations?

You want "Madam speaker" to make a move that would put her closer in line to being president. That sounds pretty self serving to me.

As Speaker of the House, Pelosi is already third in line for the presidency... meaning that if Donald were impeached and removed, and something heavy were to fall on Pence later that day, she's the President.

You seem convinced that Pelosi is the reason the legislation is stalled... any reason for that?

That means she should be disqualified from being a part of any impeachment procedure.

Pelosi is highly intelligent and a very skilled and effective politician. If I were to write her I would say "Well done thou good and faithful servant".

Impeachment is not under way --- that is in the senate, nothing to do with her.

I do not support impeachment. I see it as a useless gesture so long as the Senate refuses to act on any evidence.

And perhaps some day you'll come to consider that just maybe it's true....there wasn't sufficient evidence to impeach or remove the President.

Much better to try and beat Trump at the ballot..."

Maybe you should give Nancy a call.

You inject a "thou" into your statement giving it a scriptural flavor. Only God can define who hears that statement. Scripture seems to indicate that we'll be surprised at just who will or won't.

I don't know, trying to impeach trump and letting the senate hang thselves by refusing if we get enough on him should be fun.

Just using a bit of Jacobian English for emphasis.
