On the third day of the creation week, Earth consisted of one giant ball of seawater.

Let's call it Terra Aqua, for lack of a better term.

1739797395668.jpeg

Then God commanded the atoms to get together and form land.

Then He commanded the waters to stand aside and let the land come to the surface.

1739797592794.jpeg

Here's my question:

Are we expected to believe that that land consisted of millions and millions of years' worth of layers of fossils?

Including fossils of plants, which said plants weren't even created until later in the day?

I contend that God created only ONE LAYER, and calls that layer "Earth."

Not Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic, or any other kind of "zoic".

"Earth"

What say you?

What say you?
That trying to understand the geological history of the Earth through myths and fables instead of what we can plainly see through observation and understanding of the processes involved is not conducive to a proper understanding of reality.

What say you?

I say that you'll make up anything to fit your unilaterally singular and personal interpretation of the Bible, no matter how far you have to go to disregard God's own creation.

Though this sort of thing is leagues better than you necromancing decade old threads.

I say when there is a conflict between university educated scientists / geologists and semi literate nomadic Bronze Age hunter gatherers / sheep herders, I go with the opinions and findings of the latter.

Here's my question:

Are we expected to believe that that land consisted of millions and millions of years' worth of layers of fossils?
Nope. Excellent point.
Including fossils of plants, which said plants weren't even created until later in the day?
Righto.
I contend that God created only ONE LAYER, and calls that layer "Earth."
Well, here's my question. In the process of water dividing from the land - that would include land rising and water receding - which would conceivably include the seismic friction between both in the process... would that not create layers? How many in a day?

You do agree that subsequent layers were created over time via earthquakes, erosion, wind, volcanic activity, floods, mudflow, ect.?

Not Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic, or any other kind of "zoic".

"Earth"

What say you?

Totally agree. There is more than enough scientific evidence available that all of the afforementioned phenomena can rapidly produce both layers and rocks. [edit] and fossils.

On that, I would venture that there is only one age - of mankind. Fully human from the beginning. Made of spirit and dust no less. Just like us.

Only if you deliberately misinterpret and ignore other evidence, sure.

Only a person who doesnt believe in God's power would post what you have...

I'm afraid that the same could easily be said of you...

Nope....true faith in God is the only way forward my friend...

I do believe in science....just not in science's interpretation of the age of the earth.

Nope....true faith in God is the only way forward my friend...not in man

Then why ignore what God's creation and the study of God's creation tells you, and why only focus on an interpretation of the Bible which doesn't fit with God's own creation?

Rapid rock formation. An example...

It's not a secret. I'm an atheist. It's in my profile. I do not believe your god exists and that things written about it creating anything in your holy book are myths and fables. Why do you state the obvious?

I have no idea what expectations you might or might not have, but that's the facts. The land does consist of that (where the sedimentary rock is appropriate for such things).

Rapid strata formation. An example...

An example of deliberate misinterpretation and blatant ignoring of actual geological evidence, sure.
