And by Bible you mean the 1611 KJV, because prior to King Jimmy wanting a translation to build a claim of divine rule off of nobody had the Bible.
Since I'm not convinced of anything, I'd honestly start up a search for evidence of Noah's flood. I'd welcome the educational opportunity, since I'd have to learn a lot about geology.
I don't know! That's one of the things I'd have to learn. But I'd be looking for the most likely area where Noah lived.Fair enough.
Just out of curiosity, where would you start your search?

Hey, you're the one who made the challenge. If we're going to start being realistic, then I don't have a million dollars to give out.Welll ... no offense ... but would you give a million dollars to someone who is a novice?
What, you mean I can't just say that I have faith you are wrong and call it a day?Really?
Then let's set the 1611 King James aside and use one of its Predecessors.
Let's start this charade over, and I'll use the 1599 Geneva to show you you're just as wrong.
Fair enough?
What, you mean I can't just say that I have faith you are wrong and call it a day?
There's a difference between your understanding of the Bible being wrong, and the Bible being wrong. But why were you suddenly concerned with supposed evidence, when you clearly indicated you have no interest in such things? If you have enough faith to say the Bible is wrong, I'm sure you won't think twice about telling me I'm wrong.
Opening our hearts is a way of making us Human Beings more human. You know, Love, Compassion and Empathy sort's of things. What should faith open up, if not our hearts?
I've no idea how nomadic people get where they live. That's not the issue here. Rather, it's the Creation stories of those very ancient people that are still believed by people today. We should know better. How did they get into the desert in the first place?
Don't academians here claim there is no evidence whatsoever the Jews lived there?

Nope, I am fully confident the Bible is correct when properly understood. You, on the other hand, don't seem to have a leg to stand on.As long as both are wrong ... right?
That's not how evidence works, but you've made it abundantly clear you have no real interest in truth if it means your overly simple understanding must be replaced with something more nuanced and detailed. Are you talking about Post 122?
I'll be glad to set the Bible aside (temporarily, of course) if you'll show me scientific evidence of Noah's flood.
That's not how evidence works, but you've made it abundantly clear you have no real interest in truth ...
Yeah, seems to be a natural relationship between the two. Things that are true tend to have a basis in evidence of some kind. Falsehoods tend to avoid dealing with it. But hey, you want to believe God is deceptive or incompetent that's your perogative.Interesting how you equate "evidence" with "truth."

Making revisions to definitions to fit with a changing picture doesn't reduce a previous statement to non-truth. Pluto is still a planet, but it's been discovered that it is in no way unique but one of a number of dwarf planets out in the deep solar system. But you have completely misstated what I have said, because I didn't say evidence equates to truth but that the two are directly related.Okay.
Let's test that, shall we?
One of my favorite questions for those who like to play the evidence equates to truth gambit.
Was it true in 2001 that Pluto was our 9th planet?
uh huh. They say the same thing about lies.
Oh? How did you establish that these past events happened? And believe me, I can list a whole lot of falsehoods passed off as truths in the past that led to death, destruction, and disfiguration.
Oh? And in Jacobean English, to boot, right? The God I believe in put in writing what He did, when He did it, where He did it, how He did it, why He did it, what order He did it in, how long it took Him to do it, and who the eyewitnesses were.
My science? It's called public evidence, which would either have to be the result of God purposely being deceitful in creation or being incompetent in transmitting the details of what he had done if your understanding of things were accurate. Can your science beat that?
Hopefully those types of heart stuff inspires us to help those in need. What happened to faith, hope, and charity?
You know ... our virtues?
I'm not understanding why that's a bad thing. What you want to do lamb, is have your cake and eat it too.
Well, what ever. The point is they were a people that had a Creation story that has no sense of reality to what we know today. You want to agree with science, but when science says the Jews didn't live in the desert for forty years, you refuse to desist with calling them desert nomads.
Nope. No confusion here. What gives here?
Mother Earth has you confused, doesn't she?
