• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm going to try and keep this short. A few weeks ago my grandmother was diagonsed with Uteran Cancer. The doctors told us she had about 90% of survival because it was in its early stages. She had all her female organs removed and with it the cancer, or so we thought. My grandmother is a very devout Christian and she loves the lord with all her heart. She spoke in tongues while at the hospital and she said she knew she was healed. Today she went to the doctors to make sure it hadn't spread. It did. She has about 50% of survival is she gets treatment, and the cancer is in its third stage. I need prayor for her. She loves god and I don't think she deserves to go through this. Please please pray for her and my family...we would be devastated without her.
Thank you all,
Caitlin

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to reply to all your wonderful responses, and for that, I ask your forgiveness. My grandmother is doing well. She has had radiation every day and starts chemo in a month, but so far it looks good. I can't thank you all enough for your consideration and prayers and I really am sorry I've not been able to reply to you all. In any case, if you want to talk to me further, I'm going to delete this account, but I have created another under the name "sacredsin." So I'll be logging on under that name from now on.
Thank you all dearly.
My warmest blessings,
Caiti

I am so sad to hear that. My grandfather was diagnosed with colon cancer a while back and I am going to tell you like I told him. DONT give up. DONT give in. Thats what the enemy wants you to do. He wants you to give in to the enemy. We cant give up on this battle.

 I wanted to share with you from my experience and observation why so many have not received break-thru, even when they have followed the teaching on healing rigorously. If you do a word search in the bible, on bitterness you will find one in Heb 12:15. Amazingly this word “ROOT OF BITTERNESS” is not taught by many pastors. And it is quite normal to think bitterness as something bad that we do such as hate, angry, jealousy etc etc . But bear with me for a while here and read on and you find that this BITTERNESS referred to in the Bible comes from doing something good and doing it rigorously to please GOD.

Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Heb 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

[G5302 FAIL hoos-ter-eh'-o
From G5306; to be later, that is, (by implication) to be inferior; genitively to fall short (be deficient): - come behind (short), be destitute, fall, lack, suffer need, (be in) want, be the worse.]

A) In Heb 12:14, it says Follow (PURSUE) holiness. It did not say ACHIEVED holiness then you see God.:amen: Many places will tell you to beat yourself until you ACHIEVED holiness then you see God. Logically their thought process is when you see God you will receive healing. Likewise, when you cannot ACHIEVED holiness you cannot see God. This teaching has lead many been spiritual exhaustion and died prematurely. It kills faith and robs many of their healing.
B) It is very interesting to read the next verse that follows and keep the context intact. Looking diligently (= BECAREFUL) lest any man fail of grace (FALL FROM GRACE); lest any ROOT OF  BITTERNESS springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.

FALL FROM GRACE definition can be found in Gal 5:4 “Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”

These verses are an eye opener to me. Justified by the law is not necessary bad to many. They are trying to please God. They are taught by many pastors that it is important for their healing to keep all the laws (including those that God found fault with and replaced it. See Heb 8:8). Many pastors do not realize that the way they teach..... is actually imposing compliance with the law to the extreme. Effectively causing a bitter root to creep in and cause us trouble ....and many are defiled.

This is particularly evident in my previous church.I have seen 40 over people got their healing and died. These 40 people includes 3 pastors who know the Word very well. They died unnecessarily. They died because of the wrong teaching. They fell from Grace (sadly due to the wrong teaching) and Christ having no effect on them, they allowed the BITTER ROOT to creep into them and defiled themselves.

The church however was totally loss with answers....why over 40 people who got their healing loose their healing? Standard explanation given:

  • The devil attacked the Pastors and caught them off guard.
Comment: This does not hold water, all three Pastor (including the rest of the 40 that lost their healing) are awake and were still doing battle with their sickness before they died (SLEEP). They prayed, confess their sins etc etc. No matter how off guard they were, they had ample time to retaliate.

  • They have sins in their life. Sin rooted inside them. Un-confessed sins
Comment; (a) They know our God is a covenant God and in 1John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”. On the verge of dying, everyone will do what is necessary to gain their life back securely. Even to give up their sins. It is an easy task to do...... more so for pastors who are man or woman of God that study the scriptures.
(b) I have trouble with this standard explanation given by the church, that sin is the cause of their healing. It troubles me more because it gives a picture that our Father is a very petty God. He is not a covenant God. He is not a forgiving God. He will not faithfully and justly forgive us when we confess our sins.

  • God is a sovereign God. He chooses to heal whoever he chooses.
Comment: It is God’s will to heal everyone. He does not discriminate the 40 that He healed and then “unhealed” them. Our God is a covenant God and at the same time he is sovereign. His sovereignty does not jam up his position as a covenant God. He does not break His covenant to remain sovereign. If he breaks his covenant to remain sovereign, then net net we have a covenant breaking God (which we all know is not true).

In conclusion: If a fervent Christian that seems to know the Word very well but do not receive break thru in healing......Likely case, it is because of this Bitter ROOT. (Doing the laws rigorously). They have good heart wanting to please our Lord. But they have rendered our Christ as no effect on them. Let us be aware that we should not fall from GRACE. Having Christ no effect on us. Lest we have bitter root creep into us ( by doing the law) and defile us. I strongly believe we live to bear fruit (= do the law by His Spirit inside us) Do out of love because we felt His love first. And not we do to live. This is a very dangerous teaching. DO DO DO to live which equates to BITTER ROOT that will DEFILE YOUR BODY.

So relax and enjoy the presence of our God inside you. John 14:17. (He is inside you / your grandmum) Relax and believe He is in control. Relax and rejoice that He loves you and your grandmum. He wants the bless your with long life (Psalm 91:16) Claim this give of Long Life. In Psalm 91:16 He says He will satisfy you with long life. Notice He says he will satisfy you. He did not spell out a time period. 60 Years, 70 years or 90 years. Satisfy you means up to your desire. You can tell God you want to serve Him up to 120 years. In Psalm 91:16 says He will show you His Salvation ( Salvation = Ye~soo~wah = Victory over Health)

God bless
