I had a dream and within that dream I saw my friend and he did not recognize me at all. I don't know why.

Not all dreams have a particular meaning, or significance, or are from God. If it troubles you, pray. Either way, you should not dwell on it and ignore it entirely.

I know that not all dreams comes from God. I just want people's input on that dream. Is that wrong to ask for? Isn't this a dreams and visions forum?

I hope that when you both ask someone about a particular dream that you have and you want some insight that you will get the following response. "Not all dreams have a particular meaning, or significance, or are from God. If it troubles you, pray. Either way, you should not dwell on it and ignore it entirely."

I gave you exactly what you asked for- input on your dream. You just didn't like the answer you were given.

Yes, I hope I get this advice too. If I had such a dilemma, I certainly wouldn't ask about it here (on the internet with a group of strangers who may or may not be what they're advertizing themselves to be). I would ask my spiritual father and he would tell me to ignore it (because this is the advice that the Orthodox Church always tells people) as it is NOT a sin to ignore such things. He would then probably direct me to read about specific lives of the saints, wherein it tells of how some people were deceived by dreams and visions, erroneously thinking they were from God, and then had to spend time in repentance and getting past the spiritual damage they caused themselves due to pride, etc. Then, he would probably ask me if I was truly following my prayer rule, if I was following the proscribed fasts of the Church, if I was reading scripture daily, and then he would probably say something like, "Oh, we've missed you at Vespers this week. You usually come. Is everything okay?"

This might be a Christian forum dealing with Dreams and Visions, but it is truly a little concerning that you would come here expecting that there was a special meaning for your dream, for either your amusement, or that you feel you've been singled out by God with a new special gift, or whatever. Be wary of anyone or any place that encourages you to dig into this type of thing. Just because a Christian tells you they can help you out, doesn't mean that person isn't lying to you, or isn't dabbling in the occult (and sometimes they don't realize it- they automatically assume it's all from God).

I know that I should pray about dreams I have and don't worry or concentrate too much on it. But I see nothing wrong in asking people for their input on a dream. When I mean input I mean about the dream itself. You did not give me any input about my dream itself, you did not try to even discuss my dream.

I also finds it very very offensive that you seem to be suggesting that I am on this forum for my personal amusement. You don't know who I am? Do you know how truly offensive that statement is?

Also God does give people gifts of dreaming and interpreting dreams. Look on Joseph in the bible, he had dreams and could interpret dreams accurately. Look on John who wrote Revelations God gave him dreams and visions about the future. Look on Daniel who had accurate dream about his present day and the future. God actually does give people gifts of dreaming and interpretations.

I did not come on this forum boasting of being a dream seer, interpretator etc. I came here so I could gain more understanding of some of the dreams I have.

It sounds like your friend doesn't know you deep down inside. Like a friend just doesn't know all your ways.

You chose to be offended where no offense was intended because you didn't like the answer you were given. There isn't always more understanding to be gained from dreams. Most dreams that most people have don't mean anything.

Robin,

How's your relationship with the Lord? Ask the Lord if He is the friend in your dream. He has given you this for a reason. Ask him to show you your relationship with him through his eyes.

I read this at "In a Dream In a Vision in the Night" by Susan Noone Riddle:

Dreaming: Instruction from God; revelation of God’s will or the future; keep dreamer from some evil; a vision; a deep Spiritual truth when given a dream within a dream. (Gen. 40: 8; 20: 3; 28: 11-22; 37: 5-10; Matt. 1: 20; 27: 13; 19; Judges 7: 13-15)

Thanks Toolite for your help

Hi Christsfreeservant. My relationship with God is quite alright. I don't think my dream had to do with my relationship with God at all. My relationship with this particular friend has been strained at times and I think this is why I had this dream. It was my personal feelings about the situation.

Your dream reveals to you that your need to feel noticed/recognized it out of balance. Concentrate on finding your spiritual balance.

Hi ByWayofLight can you explain what you said more clearly. You stated that "Your dream reveals to you that your need to feel noticed/recognized it out of balance". What exactly does that mean? Am I looking too much to my friend to get recognition or are you referring to people in general? You also said, "Concentrate on finding your spiritual balance" What does that mean exactly?
