Prove me wrong: God created the universe and everything in it last Thursday, including our memories and history, even the Bible. "Appearance of age," isn't that what you call it?Is that what they teach in college?
The most important thing they 'teach' in college is how to think objectively and not rely solely on other people's subjectivity. Is that what they teach in college?
If you don't believe that, okay if I don't either?Prove me wrong: God created the universe and everything in it last Thursday, including our memories and history, even the Bible. "Appearance of age," isn't that what you call it?
"Not rely" is one thing. The most important thing they 'teach' in college is how to think objectively and not rely solely on other people's subjectivity.
The choice becomes available once one applies the distinctions for realising objectivity."Not rely" is one thing.
"Deny" is another.
Who doubts it besides you? In any case, I wasn't referring to the Coriolis effect and if the ark's journey was above 40 degrees north it wouldn't have been able to reach Ararat. I think you're just making this stuff up as you go along. Whatever it takes to preserve the literal inerrancy of Genesis, right?
So now you seek to appeal to the authority of meteorologists to drive your point.
But unless you can provide a quote from a reputable Christian Noah's flood believing meteorologist(s) who understand about the furious effect of a deluge.. then I will with respect to you, but not give a snip about what they say.
The wind was mentioned while the flood waters were receding as a way of explaining the quick-dry effect of the land. It was something unusual, sent from God to shorten the delay of getting off the ark because their food supplies had run out by then.
Whereas the deluge and quickly heightened waters of a flood carries with it the strong winds as I gave example of in the incident when the disciples and Jesus were on the boat. They on the boat when a storm of rain and wind arose. And the flood of Noah, rain and wind of exceeding measure.
The turbulence of Noah's flood is determined by the exceeding power of the flow of water that changes the topography. Try it out with your water hose at full power on a patch of grass in your yard. Then think what the power level of water rushing out of a fire-hydrant would do to your yard. Then think about a burst dam. Then think about the tsunami of Japan. Then think about the 2004 tsunami. Or any other earth moving devastation. If all of them happened together they would not compare to the deluge that Noah saw and God protected him and his family (and all animals in the ark) from.
It was only calm after the deluge had stopped.
you might want to go check an elementary school science book
i can think about anything. but that won't change how open water becomes turbulentYou might want to give some thought to the story.

The main flood waters came in about as fast as daily tides, not like a huge tsunami. They would cause little erosion over fairly flat ground covered with heavy vegetation. And when the water gets deeper it would slow or even stop moving altogether at ground level as the flood ascended the land.
No, but I take it you can, since you're an atheist, and Speedwell said, in essence, "God did it."Not believing is fine, but can you PROVE it is wrong?

So you must disagree with him.
And if so, mind if I disagree with him as well?
Hi, Skreeper!AV, it seems during your absence you haven't lost your amazing ability to pivot and your inability to engage with hypotheticals.
I hope that "being stubborn" and "slow learner" are already part of your resume.
So ken ham is deceptive when he claims that his ark shows the possibility for Noah to build the Ark: nails, bolts, screws, clamps, hinges, fasteners etc were used.In my opinion, Noah's ark consisted of only two things: gopher wood and pitch.
No nails, no screws, no bolts, no hinges, no clamps, no fasteners, nothing else.
In theory, it should have caved in under its own weight during the building process.
Any guesses as to why it didn't?
It is possible to build a REPLICA of the Ark; but building the Ark itself is impossible, as it was a multi-dimensional miracle of construction. So ken ham is deceptive when he claims that his ark shows the possibility for Noah to build the Ark: nails, bolts, screws, clamps, hinges, fasteners etc were used.

Because 39.7 is less than 40, amounting to about 20 miles distance. But how do you know the ark never got below 40 degrees north?Mount Ararat, Iğdır, Turkey
Latitude and longitude coordinates are: 39.702438, 44.299076.
Why wouldn't the ark have been able to reach the mts of Ararat, that's where the water was carrying it?
Nope.I mean, it's certainly within the realm of what God can do, isn't it?
