Seems to me it's only, and here I go again... common sense to use common sense, especially on something so important as life and the reason for it. I mean it's only the most important thing there is to many, but if using common sense to help you draw conclusion on such things isn't your cup of tea, then, oh well.
Common sense tends to be a poor guide to reality. It's common sense that tells millions of people that if a lottery number hasn't come up for a number of weeks, it's overdue - and it's common sense that tells millions of other people that if it hasn't come up for a while, it's not likely to come up next time...

Am I in the right place, is this the forum where Christians & non-Christians butt heads all day long? I've seen people go over the line in here, this doesn't seem like going over the line.

Welcome to CF. When someone is insulted it is their right to be aggrieved. Usually it is the Christians who get to play the martyr card. I just want Christians to remember Luke 6:31

fine. lets start with your claim about evidence for design. check my argument here and we will continue from there:

I have seen your arguments for Intelligent Design. I am not impressed. Sorry. Not going to engage on those arguments. When you start envisioning organic robots and organic watches or whatever it is you prefer I tend to lose my focus and my eyes roll back in my head.

No, but some folks, don't just make stuff up and pretend to know something they don't.

Correct. Not everyone is an atheist scientist.

And real common sense would tell them to look into their reasoning before drawing conclusion. You simply aren't going to convince me that common sense in the way I'm using it here, in itself, is a problem.

Now commonsense tells me, you are creating situations of "common sense" that do not actually denote common sense at all, and all in attempt to discredit commons sense because it makes so much sense here, but is not favorable to your end of this.

Doing that only discredits your side to anyone that can easily see what you are up too. But keep it up if you like, it really makes no difference to me. :)

Is this you not paying attention?

I don’t believe in poofing.

Care to take another run at it?

Where did you make that clear? If that was the case why did you reply to someone who was talking about poofing?

Since you accused me of not paying attention, I really would like the answers to those questions but either way, It's not all about you, many do believe it, hence my comment, so my run is just fine, but let's not leave you out, what do you believe?

Will you stay safe "with an I don't know"? If not what else have you got?

Correct. Not everyone is an atheist scientist.

No. Some are scientists who are Christians, who agree with the scientists who are atheists, regarding science.

But hey, reality does bite for some.

Yes, some Christians have also been deceived.

OK; that sounds like a 'No True Scotsman Common sense' fallacy to me; I get the impression that, for most people I encounter, common sense means what seems immediately obvious without 'looking into their reasoning'. It may just be a difference in usage between groups though. YMMV.

Hey DavidFirth! Would you consider a Christian who approaches the Bible in a way approximating that of BioLogos.org to be "deceived"?

You can quote Luke if you want, but you probably should have some context, we've all agreed to be in the debate sections of a forum where we challenge the ideas of others. Practically that calls for at least a tad bit of thicker skin. Reporting him to the Mods over that is rather sensitive for where we've all chosen to be.

Frumious, this isn't all necessarily directed at you...some is, but this also brought to mind other things I though needed mentioning.

Fallacy? I realize how popular a term that is for defense of your side of this but it does nothing here.

com·mon sense
ˌkämən ˈsens/
noun
  1. good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.
    "use your common sense"
synonyms: good sense, sense, native wit, sensibleness, judgment, levelheadedness, prudence, discernment, canniness, astuteness, shrewdness, wisdom, insight, perception, perspicacity; More
I rest my case unless someone else actually wants to tell me common sense has no place in determining where we came from.

Also, this brings to mind, the way some non believers try to do away with anything that works for their opposition, and how the attempts can get pretty outragous. The end result of this was to basically say "I'm sorry good sense isn't allowed in the debate on where we all came from"... exactly what I was supposed to have been convinced of here.

While I'm at it, Here is another they (non believers) try to fiddle around with so it suits their purposes but not the opposing side:

"Science proves nothing" And how any one dares try to push that one is beyond me, but they do.

See, science is practically God when it comes to trying to prove their end, but when is comes down to actually "prove it" then "Science proves nothing" "and that's why we can't actually prove it."

Huh?

Seriously, this would be great stuff for a stand up routine, and I'm surprised some comedian hasn't latched on to it yet. :)

You just keep displaying how little you understand how science works.

I'm adding that to my list of all too common, unoriginal, favorite, meaningless comebacks. IOW, what we say when we have no real defense.

See, no direct accusation there, I mean let's not get into what I actually said (because we know it's true, and best stay away from that :))...stay safe, and pretend something is fact while offering no proof.
