I thought that the Big Bang theory discredited that claim.
Before the singularity there was no energy, no mass and no forever and no Universe.

From my understanding, it is thought that the energy predates the inflation of the Universe.

No one knows is the key... we need a new physics to say anything about the singularity. Even whether it was there. Or that's my understanding from what I picked up here and there.
