Star-gods

Star-god, Giants and Aliens: Where Did the Myths Originate?

It is my intent to go beyond, what is most likely expected as an answer to how different cultures ended up with similar myth stories. I could simply share what Joseph Campbell believed. After studying Freud, among others, he came up with the belief that all men have within their conscious and unconscious similar needs. Out of those needs, and influenced by their own cultural elements, they create stories. The second explanation could be a sociological/anthropological one. Primitive men created stories to elucidate the meaning behind thunder, lighting, why it rains, and to answer questions of life and death. These stories are meant to give meaning to everything, and give them some kind of control over their environments, perhaps control the weather by appeasing the gods. We think of them as dim-witted, primitive human cultures that create imaginary gods. We then add to that, the similarities between myths are due to interactions of cultures, and assimilation of ideas. Stories become similar as they take ideas from one another.

I wish to take a different stance. We will look at them briefly across cultures and then show how these could have originated from a common origin. I will propose a rather radical origin. Mythology of every culture enshrines the remembrance of legendary super human Gods with superior knowledge, who came from the heavens and dwelt among men, often appearing in fiery chariots, space ships. They came and dwelt among men, had intercourse with the women, and even animals, and a new race half- god half- man, giants of some kind, were the result of this union. All of these elements appear in almost every culture.

The Sumerians referred to these advanced beings as “Anunnaki” which means, “Those who from Heaven to Earth Came.” They worshiped them as gods. The Hindu stories were about gods they called Devas, who came from the stars in flying machines called Vimanas. These come from three of their sacred scriptures all that date back as far as 3000B.C. In the Sanskrit they describe the flying machines in much detail. These texts are so abundant that it would take volumes to relate what they had to say.

We should not omit Africa, which also had a creational myth which says a race of alien, reptoid in appearance beings came from Sirius. The Nibiruans (alien gods) supposedly landed on earth” colonized it, mining the Earth for gold and other minerals, establishing a spaceport in what today is the Iraq-Iran area-the cradle of civilization-and lived in a kind of idealistic society as a small colony.” (Fosdick, 1) Sounds like Star-gate, doesn’t it.

The Myans believed these gods came down, and then returned to the stars, to someday return again. They too indicated they mated with Mayan women. Aztecs also have stories the same, and petroglyphs inscribed with alien, reptilian looking, creatures identical to the aliens we depict today. In Peru, the Nasca lines further give credence to the stories looking very much like ancient air strips, or signs visible to the gods from outer space. We all know Erich von Daniken’s explanation that is in the same vein. The Inca have a legend that the city of Tiahuanacu was built by “bearded white men from Taurus, the constellation of Pleiades. They are also believed to have descended from the clouds and to have had sexual intercourse with the Incan women.” (Missler,46) The walls of that city were built of 60 ton blocks reinforced with metal clamps. One of the mysteries mentioned on all of those how- did- they- do- it shows, along with the question of how the ancient Egyptians raised giant obelisks and pyramids aligned perfectly to the stars, that to this day we are unable to duplicate without the use of laser sighted instruments.

Recently a Lakota Sioux spiritual leader, Standing Elk, spoke at the Star Knowledge and Sun Dance Conference, in response to a vision regarding knowledge about the Star Nations. In this vision he was told it was time for the indigenous people to tell their closely held oral tradition. He was joined by the chief Maori shaman, and both
Eastern and Southwest tribes were represented. The traditions include,” their origin from the stars, the influence of Star People, visitors, on the formation of their culture and spiritual beliefs and ceremonies, and the imminent return of the Star Nations.”

(Boylan, 1)

We saved the most obvious for the last, Greek and Roman gods. Zeus, Jupiter, Poseidon, Neptune, Hermes, Mercury, all had sex with human women, and produced quite out-of- the-ordinary off spring. They themselves were semi-gods. They were violent, wanton, lustful and promiscuous beyond restraint.

Now, our professor wrote in his directions for this essay, “The most frequent parallel stories usually deal with creation, the flood or the hero’s quest.” This leads me to my assertion is what Theologian Francis Shaeffer said, “More and more are finding that mythology in general though greatly contorted very often has some historic base, and the interesting thing is that myth which occurs over and over again in many parts of the world, is that somewhere a long time ago supernatural beings had sexual intercourse with natural women and produced a special bred of people.” So it is our theory that many myths have a real factual and actual origin. (Groups 2) So let us look at the Jewish account of who these beings were.

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning, how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou has said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15) Jesus himself said “I beheld Satan as lightening fall from Heaven.” Luke 10:18.

“And there was war in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon; and the Dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in Heaven. And the Great Dragon was cast out, that Old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Rev. 12:7-9)

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God (Angles) saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose…”There were giants in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.( Genesis 6:1, 2, 4)

Genesis 6 indicates that the "sons of God" (B'nai Elohim) took wives of the ‘daughters of men,’ which gave birth to the ‘Nephilim.’ ‘The B'nai Elohim’ is a term that refers to angels. It occurs four times in the Old Testament, and is rendered ‘Angels of God’ in the ancient Septuagint translation.

The intrusion of certain angels into the human family resulted in unnatural offspring termed Nephilim, which derives from the Hebrew naphal (to fall), or the Fallen Ones. The Greek Septuagint renders this term gigantes, which actually means "earth-born." This is often misunderstood to mean "giants" which they also happen to have been, incidentally.” (Missler) The unnatural offspring, the Nephilim, were monstrous and have been memorialized in legends and myths of every ancient culture on the planet. These Titans, demigods, false prophets or heroes were partly terrestrial and partly celestial. It is believed by many that they also brought to earth occultic worship, which was most often accompanied with drug use, called pharmakeia, translated sorcery, but from where we get our word for pharmacy. (Strongs, 5331).

It is a widely accepted notion that Zeus, Apollo, Ra, Demeter, Isis, and all the other ancient gods were actually fallen angels that rose up in rebellion against God; their sole intentions were to deceive, by distorting the truth, making it look foolish, influencing and spreading wickedness through out the world. One way to deceive is to spread the belief that they were gods (polytheism) and demand to be worshipped as so. We see the clear evilness and deceit in their satanic ceremonies and worship (the mystery religions?). The religion of the ancient Greeks was focused on the worship of the Sun, the Moon, and a race of divine beings known as the Olympians (fallen angels) We read about the ritualistic ceremonies in our text, self-mutilations, castrations, frenzied orgies, beastality, and even tearing animals apart with their bare hands and eating them.

These giant-gods were also called Titans. The most famous of the Titans was Cronus, who killed his father. Cronus later led the Titans in their losing war against Zeus and the Olympian gods. After their defeat, the Titans were imprisoned in a section of the underworld called Tartarus.

In his Second Epistle, the Apostle Peter uses part of this Greek myth to explain the fate of some of the fallen angels. He states that for their sins, these angels had been in Tartarosas, which The NKJV Greek English Interlinear New Testament translates literally as "confining them to Tartarus," also known in the Bible as "the Abyss". Peter goes on to say more in II Peter 2:4 “ For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarosas] and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment…” (NKJV) This is the same Tartarus where Greek mythology says the Titans were imprisoned. Lastly, in Jued 1:6 “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto judgement of that qrate day.” It is interesting that the first god in Greek myth was Uranus (Heaven), who mates with Gaea, (the earth) Coincidence? From this union, the Titans and Cyclops, giants are born.

The son of Satan, is the Greek word, "huios", that means, a male offspring, while the word "perdition," means to destroy; hence the name for the Son of Perdition is synonymous with the Greek terminology, "Apollyon" and is used in Revelation to refer to the anti-christ, who once again is half- man half- fallen angel. ( Rev 9:11 )

The Biblical Nimrod, whose name means “the rebel,” he too was in open revolt. In Genesis 10:8 he is called “mighty one” which actually means mighty one against the Lord. Mighty one is also the Hebrew word gibborim, which is frequently used synonym for the Nephilim. This was after the flood. Some believe that the flood occurred because the interbreeding with angels was so prevent and evil, so pervasive that God wanted to cleanse the Earth, and only Noah’s blood line had not been spoiled with that of fallen angles. It also states that “giants in those days and also after that,” meaning after the flood this still happened but to a less extent, so there were still giants.

The kingdom of Og, the King of Bashan, was the ‘land of giants.” There were tribes called Rephaims, Emims, Horims, and Zamummins, all giants. Goliath of Gath, whose name means exile, was most likley a Nephelim. He apparently stood 9’9” tall. There are stories of giants all over the world as well. One could do a cross cultural study of many aspects of these stories and find similarities. In Irish-Celtic mythology for example, the Fomorians are a race of demonic giants, ancient occupants of Ireland, who raided and pillaged Ireland from the sea. (List, 1)

Ancient astronauts, flying gods, angels, that at the dawn of time were known as those “who came from the sky to earth.” They brought their highly advanced technology, strength, architecture, astronomy, astrology, occult religions, and human sacrifice.

We believe that ancient mythology, for the most part, is based some what on factual documented events, real people, real fallen angles who wanted to be gods, and were able to become so on earth. H.E. Fosdick said, “I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery, than to live in a world so small that my mind could not comprehend it.” (World, 2)

Peter writes, “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables. but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”(II Peter1:16). In Timothy’s second letter he writes,” And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.:

(II Timothy 4:4). The truth is sometimes stranger then myth. Which is easier to believe, aliens from other planets came here, or fallen angels?

assignment The task here is to look through the various mythologies we are now more familiar with, and to look at some of the stories from different cultures that have odd similarities. The main point is to try to think of ways to explain these similarities--how did this happen? How do different cultures wind up telling very similar stories? Obviously, there are a variety of answers, somewhat depending on which cultures or parts of the world you look at.

it was suposed to be around 4-5 pages, mine is around 6 or so, and i could have written a book on it.
