So would the core, the innermost layer of the earth, have come after the land had formed or would it have been surrounded by the waters of the earth?
Good question.

I don't know the order in which the ocean contributed its atoms to form the dry earth.

Inside out? outside in?

And for that matter, IF the core is Hell, then it could have come later, since God says He "prepared" Hell.

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

I just asked out of curiosity.

Although your passage doesn't rally say if Hell was formed before the earth was formed or after.

No you have stated many times you believe in sciences version of creation.
You must have me mixed up with someone else.

The earth now is an oblate spheroid.

Keyword: "now".

Here's a hint: Earth is no longer in the hollow of God's hand.

Ya -- I get the feeling it came after the Creation Week, since Satan was still Lucifer, working in the Garden.

Eh that's getting into theological semantics since Lucifer is only named as the morning star in Isaiah 14:12, which refers to a prophecy given to the King of Babylon.
Satan is a whole different thing entity, being a corrupter and instigator of sin.

Although, interestingly, there are some thinkings that have it that Satan is basically a vassal for Lucifer, who is condemned to remain in hell, with Satan serving as his lackey on Earth.

Here is the Earth during a segment of Day One of the Creation Week:

A mass of sea water in the hollow of God's hand.

Isaiah 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,

Genesis 1:2a And the earth was without form, and void;

Which do not apply, in your opinion:
  1. astronomy
  2. biology
  3. geology
  4. all the above
  5. none of the above
There was no creation week. That's fiction, so you list above applies as much to this fictional creation weeks as the ideas of John Maynard Keynes apply to the economy of Wakanda.

So you vote NONE OF THE ABOVE, I take it?

Good for you!

I do too, but for different reasons.

Creatio ex nihilo, it was a miracle.

What's yours?

Same as driewerf's?

Cool. Kind of makes it not a challenge then.

As for me... doesn't bother me one way or another since God's revealed creation and the study of said creation shows that the world did not start as a ball of water.
So for argument's sake, none of the above.

Especially when you talk the extra-Biblical nonsense you do.
If you consider creatio ex nihilo "extra-Biblical nonsense," then I have a feeling you'll consider a lot of stuff "extra-Biblical nonsense."

No, just the stuff you talk about.

I feeling I've said this before actually.

This is why I started this thread.

It's about one single verse, dealing with one single act of God, during one single day of creation, and questions on three -- that's ONLY THREE -- disciplines of science: astronomy, biology, and geology.

To say I "talk nonsense" is a cheap shot that does not respect this thread.

I'm sure there's some goofy fallacy named for this, but trying to pwn a thread about a single act of creation on Day One because the author of this thread believes things about the Flood in Noah's time that are avant garde, is wrong.

What's that saying?

Even a broken clock tells the right time twice a day.

And if you think my clock is broken in Genesis 6, doesn't mean it's broken in Genesis 1.

Post 38 please.

Even if science didn't exist when the universe and world began, we can still use science to look back at the world and its history.

You're anti-science spiel can take a hike.
