Is every thread supposed to be a discussion thread?

I don't know about every thread but aren't challenges meant to be discusses?

The problem as I see are the many threads that are not worth discussing.

Um, your question IS being answered first.

This isn't a "challenge" if there is no critical interaction with the responses. It's otherwise just a question—and one with no wrong answers, apparently (i.e., there is no challenge here).

That doesn't appear to be a challenge, it appears to be a answer to a math question. Perhaps all you want was a yes or no answer and not a discussion.

Yes. Darwin was qualified to come up with a hypothesis that humans came out of Africa however it took modern science to discover the evidence to confirm the hypothesis. See:

I think Darwin was qualified to speculate on human origins in Africa, but not to state it definitively.

But nor am I qualified to make definitive statements about Darwins qualifications.
