  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think of that one NDE episode on Unsolved Mysteries where Howard Storm "left" his body and he was being attacked by demons and I think of my dad suffering the same thing eventually. I think that's what makes this different from my mom. I had doubts about my mom's salvation but this situation feels darker, gloomier, and emptier.
Praying for him.

I have to go right now but my brother is too pushy on me to find out if he actually had a seizure and the real reason behind it. I have asked them and they claim not to know the exact reason; sure they may be lying but my brother is pushing me too much to prove things and I'm just at my wits end. I don't actually know for a fact if the hospital is doing the wrong thing to my dad. I just don't have the medical knowledge. Not that the people there are 100% competent but what else can I do? I'm too tired.

Are you siblings aware you became Christian? Are they aware you are your father's only caregiver?

The most perfect description of my dad is, "Can't live with, can't live without." :sigh: :sigh: :sigh:
Whatever happens next, Lady Bug, the Lord is with you.
And He will get you through it, one step at a time often.

And if you should find yourself losing faith during any of this, please do continue to come and post here for support.
You've got a handful of folks here who love and care about you.
In Christ, we are family.

While other people's faith can strengthen, mine tends to get worse. :sigh:
@Lady Bug stop in today and let us know how things are going. :praying:
It's not easy to find time but this place is important to me :)

Maybe, but ...
I've seen you grow in your faith these past months, even with all the hard battles you've been facing.
So sometimes I think we may be stronger in faith than we realize!

In any case, there is plenty of faith ... right here in this forum ... to help support you if you feel your faith getting shaky.

That's great to hear you say that. Do you have any example to remind me, though?

Tell you brother to harass the doctors if he wants to but you're not going to do it for him. Sheesh.

Okay ... I will do that!

(I'm presently nursing a recent leg injury, having to limit my time on my laptop because I need to keep my leg lifted alot ... and sometimes in awkward positions ... but I'll get back to you on this. I'm generally still getting online a few times a day, for short periods. So ... catch ya later! lol)

I wanted to say that your love and need for God seems to have increased.

Here is an example of my brother.

It turns out that my dad may not necessarily be allergic to morphine. According to the medical records, the seizure happened as my dad was weaning off the anesthesia. My brother doesn't believe that my dad actually had a seizure and that the hospital is making it up. I had told the doctors "no narcotics" because he had a problem with codeine 30 years back. Unfortunately, just because he's allergic to codeine (there were other meds listed under Allergies) doesn't mean per se that he's allergic to such-and-such. But my brother will try to tell me that the hospital is trying to manipulate me into believing such-and-such. Even if they ARE, I just don't have the proof as to what is causing my dad's debilitating condition right now aside from what is stated in the records. My brother acts like I have too much faith in the hospital staff. That's not it. They could be azzholes for all I know, but how am I supposed to prove anything? I don't know jack about some of the meds my dad is being temporarily given right now. My brother thinks I'm being too meek and not fighting them enough. I don't know what's wrong with being meek and not combative. It doesn't mean I'm gullible, it's that I don't want to cause a fuss when I don't know all I need to know. He's a mental case.

That’s completely not normal. The hospital is not involved in a conspiracy against your father and his family. Your brother sounds unstable.

I know. None of it can be remotely proven.

All he needs to do is look up what happened to your father. These things happen. He (brother) sounds like a complete drama addict.

He is, IMHO. He told me he was going to talk to the nurse again about morphine. I told him that I was starting to have questions whether or not the morphine was an actual problem because the records indicate that his seizure seemed to happen after weaning off anesthesia. My brother still doesn't believe a real seizure happened. To think of this man being POA is cringe.
