  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It does not matter, but it begs the question of why create it with a sticker that says MADE IN JAPAN. For some that question does not matter, but for many it does.
'Why' has nothing to do with this thread.

It doesn't matter why it was done ... it was done; and the question is: What scientific evidence would support this?

Exactly!

Hence my point, AV, about a deceptive God.
Let's leave God, the Bible and/or religion out of this thread please; else we will get sidetracked from looking at the OP from a scientific perspective.

In that case, why did you refer me to this challenge if it has absolutely nothing to do with my point about a literal Genesis God being deceptive?

It isn't JUST about the lack of evidence for creation out of nothing, it is ALSO about the very present 'MADE IN JAPAN' evidence inherent in the earth.

Certainly not to sidetrack this thread.

Hey, we were discussing God, the Bible, and religion when you referred me to this challenge.

To try to play like your intention is not to parallel this scenario with God creating the universe is very disingenuous.

Does it matter?

Yes.

Let's say the apple is orange in color, squirts grape juice, has a MADE IN JAPAN static sticker on it, and when you bite into it, it tastes like a banana?

(I'm being facetious, of course, to make my point.)

What point are you trying to make?

What I am asking is if an ex nihilo apple would have a fake history embedded into it.

This is AV's favorite bait and switch game. Apparently if you can think of no evidence for a hypothetical scenario that has never been observed to happen and for which no mechanism is specified there can be no evidence for the creation of the entire universe in 6 literal days 6000 years ago. Ergo creationism is true and all that pesky evidence to the contrary is so much poppy [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse].

What does it matter if the apple is YEC, OEC, Last Thursday, Matrix, Omphalos, Gap, or Embedded Age?

The point is that it is ex nihilo, which is what I would like [scientifically] addressed please.

I have noticed that, and I find the insisted omission of the clearly intended parallels to be wholly dishonest. In part because he knows that his parallels are not really such, as he intentionally omits information to better suit his argument.
