Again ... fine.

I'll accept "nothing" as an answer.

What should they find 350 below the Taj Mahal ... say ... in a one cubic mile tract?

I assume you mean 350 feet, as that was the unit you claimed previously, and they would find tombs perhaps of the royals of the geographic region. They would never be allowed to dig there AV, but you know I am not a paleontologist, so I couldn't answer this question. It isn't my field. You want to know how genetic mutations occur, or how DNA replictes itself, I can help a lot, but rocks and what they contain is not my thing. I am studying for medical research to help the living, not find the dead.

However, if I recall correctly, there are at least 2 atheists on here who do have geology as their main focus and could probably answer that better, if you didn't give a cheeky location.

Yes, thank you.

Don't worry.

They can't either, in my opinion.

It's after they do find something, that they'll claim they predicted it.

Again, in my opinion.

Why does it have to be an expert in geology?

Can't an astronomer do it? or a nuclear holo... er ... physicist do it?

After all, a botanist will gladly go out of his field to throw SN1987A up in our faces.

Or a particle physicist won't hesitate to demand we explain ERVs to them.

But if we mention [the late] Mr. Morris ... why ... he's "just a hydraulics engineer."

Dear Sarah, Hello. How are you? Good to see you again. God Bless you

It is good to see you again as well, I could be doing better, but the drama of life cannot be avoided sometimes.

and to AV, Paleontologists could answer your question, I just am not one, so I can't. How about you ask one your question, and preferably pick a location where they can actually dig.

Uh, no. Professionals in one scientific field should not be expected to be just as capable in another, there is just too much material for that. This is like expecting a heart surgeon to be able to perform the dental work on a horse.

I think I've made my point.

The question is rhetorical, anyway.

Grave robbers can't predict, they can only advertise the accuracy of their evolution after the fact.

I literally posted Tiktaalik, an instance that fits your exact requirements. What more do you want from me, AV? They picked traits of a creature that had never been dug up before, predicted where and how deep they would find it, went to dig there, and found the species they predicted at the depth they predicted which had never been found before.

Let me make myself perfectly clear, Sarah.

Let {me, I, myself, AV1611VET, Phil, yours truly, the person typing this post, the man that shows up in my mirror, this guy, moi, the guy in my chair} do the pointing this time.

Then we'll see how accurate their bologna is.

Go ahead and ask a Paleontologist then. And ask for a place they can actually dig. Heck, go ahead and say your backyard, depending on where you live, there might actually be some common fossils there. Maybe do some digging yourself? Have a neat little personal treasure hunt.

I thought I did, several yaks ago.

I have a feeling that paleontologists won't answer though, because they know better.

Put the place NOT on a landmark. You make your questions purposely cheeky, and you know it. how about the bottom of a lake near your house? Or a nearby hill? Or your childhood neighborhood? They know better than to answer a question made by a person who only wants one sort of answer.

I'm seeking a list. Top 100 or whatever you have.

Oh my, that would take a really long time for me to find, especially with all these Tiktaalik papers I have to shift aside. I highly doubt such a concise list has been made, but I'll try to find a few more for you.

I'll tell you what.

If evolution is such an exact science, then ...

Instead of finding something first, predict you'll find it, then find it.

If CF didn't send old threads to the memory hole, I could point you to threads about Tiktaalik. This is exactly how it was found. They predicted where it would be found, and in which strata.

"And let me do the pointing."

Oh, now I see what you're getting at. You're not actually interested in predictions based on theory, you're interested in parlor tricks.
