As Connor approached the gang his vision suddenly went black and white, removing all color and brightness from sight. He could still make out objects, but the distance between them were slightly distorted. Then, just as suddenly as it had started, his regular vision returned. This happened multiple times, but Connor kept his face straight, not wanting the gang to see his confusion.

As the group of agents got closer and closer, Scarlet addressed the gang. "OK, when they get close enoughand when their unprepaired, i say we attack, teach them a little lesson, create a scene, and get outta here before the cops show up."

((I'd like to think that there are older, more experianced gang members. Ya know big scarey men. And a mysteriously evil leader.

((Sure, works for me. Our little group could just be assigned to this 'area' of town or something like that.))

Hope could feel her body reacting to the almost state of panic that they were now faced with. The blood rushing through her body made her ears tingle and sounds were a little muffled. Her vision was affected too, but she couldn't quite explain it. Or was that due to something besides nerves? What exactly was this mutant gang capable of? How would they hope to have any chance of survival right now? She felt as though she were creating a force field around them. Making the air solid like she had with the water. But nothing looked different and she knew her powers weren't strong enough for something like that now anyway.

Komodo finally pushed out of his cousin's arms, but she just pushed him behind her. He wondered why he had wanted her here again? She was just like the rest of them only wasn't as nice to him. He watched as she smiled at the oncoming action that was about to take place. He ran his hand over his hair straightening up what Treena had ruffled. There was no point in arguing against them now, he would go along with them and just hope for the best.

Drew leaned against the fence that surrounded the pool. Pretty much the entire sports complex was visible from this spot as well as quite a bit of the area around it. "I don't really play sports or anything, but it's not a bad place to come shoot some hoops or swim a bit when it's hot. You play any sports?" He asked Riabhca.

As he was looking around, he spotted Kade. He recognized her from class, but hadn't actually met her yet, just like he hadn't met most of the rest of the students here. At least he wasn't the only one who wasn't visiting family over the weekend or off at the ice cream shop.

Peta peered around the corner at the scene in front of her, she knew the young girl was in trouble and she was not sure what to do her powers were very limited and she was weaker when on the ground. She needed to be able to get closer to the gang to be able to help the girl. Peta closed her eyes concentrating on trying to get herself off the ground to a better playing field.

Constantine watched as the group got closer, he wasn't sure what exactly his messing around was doing to them but he knew it would distracting at best.

He decided to take his meddling a step farther and began increasing the frequency and randomness of his light redirection as well as adding a new dimension to it - that of sending unpredictable bursts of concentrated light at them. This wouldn't cause any permanent damage to the groups eyes but would likely be very annoying and possibly painful.

As the group of agents got closer and closer, Scarlet addressed the gang. "OK, when they get close enough and when their unprepared, i say we attack, teach them a little lesson, create a scene, and get outta here before the cops show up."

Constantine smiled and nodded, maintaining his focus on the approaching students. It was not a nice smile, but rather one with a definitely sinister overtone. Quietly, "I'm ready. Let's do this." Even though he'd said it quietly without any force, there was an easily discernible dangerous quality to it that no one could mistake.

As they prepared to attack the group of students, Constantine continued his visual assault as well as gathering energies for the coming confrontation. These little students didn't know what they were in for.

For that matter, his fellow gang members were about to get a surprise as well as Constantine was preparing to unleash a variation on his ability to manipulate light that he'd never demonstrated in front of the gang before.

The group got closer and closer. the time was now.

Scarlet commanded out "Now." And the gang snapped into action.

Scarlet shoved the girl from her arms into one of the boys, then attacked Hope. Not with her gun, but with her pointed high heel boot. She extended her leg and shoved it in the direction of Hopes stomach.

Kyler wasn't expecting what happened next and sure wasn't prepaired. As Sammy was shoved toward him he reached out to catch her, but instead she fell right through him. He steeped out of her and offered his hand ut to her.

Constantine grinned as Scarlet gave the order. He quickly broke off his visual assualt and switched to offensive mode.

He quickly concentrated all the light currents under his control into twin glowing orbs. These orbs rippled with energy and quickly turned red as he tightly focused the light. And not any ordinary shade of red either, but the colour of freshly spilled blood.

Since they were no longer hiding their powers, Constantine grew his wings and launched himself into the air. From there he began raining what can only be described as blood-red laser bolts down on the students, careful not to cause any permanent damage.

This ability to generate laser bolts was what he'd never revealed to the gang before. Mainly because he'd never had a need to use it before, but partly because he liked to keep secrets.

As she concentrated on getting herself off the ground, Peta felt a surge go thru her body that she never felt before. She knew she was trying to use her emotions to strength her power. but this power surge was very different then she ever felt before. She opened her eyes to see that she was floating above the building she had been hiding behind. Peta looked down at the scene below her seeing that a fight had broke out between the mutant gang and the others. Her eye catches a movement off to the side a pale skinned, dark hair boy had risen into the air unfolding his wings. Peta flew toward Constantine letting out a eagles siren with such force knocking him back toward the ground.

Mark took a moment to create shadows scattered around the parking lot, faster than usual; he was feeling strong right now. he stepped into one of his other shadows, keeping his eyes half-shut so they couldn't find him too easily. he then picked one of the students, the boy who had just dropped Scar's hostage, and put a shadow around his head, concentrating on keeping it on target as the guy moved.

as Caitlyn stepped out the door she felt a rush of adrenaline go through her. this is gonna be interesting. she concentrated, trying to find the state of mind that let her use her superspeed, and more importantly, think and react as fast as she moved. not that I'm exactly good at the 'thinking and reacting' part yet, but hey, this could be good practice. it was easier than usual this time, and something seemed different, stronger. nerves I guess. maybe it means I'll manage not to screw up too spectacularly this time.

As soon as the action started, Connor reacted. He teleported himself behind the girl who had been holding Sammy and aimed a punch at the back of her head....

Sammy yelped as the girl shoved her into Kyler. She reached out to brace herself against his shoulders, but she fell right through him!! She winced as her outstretched palms hit the pavement, scraping them. She turned over as Kyler stepped out of her and helped her up. She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked back at the gang. She didn't know wht she was going to do, but she knew that she had to help her friends.

"So I'm not the only one who stayed behind today, huh?" Kade said as she approachedthe two.
"It's Drew right?" she said before turning to Riabhca
"I'm Kadence, but every one calls me Kade or once Kay" she said introducing her self.

((Yeah, general forum rules apply. You can initiate an action, but you can't say how it affects the other character. You can say what its intended effect was, but it's up to the other player to determine if their character was affected by the action. At the same time, don't block or avoid every action just because you can. Make it realistic.

Keep in mind the powers of the character you are fighting against. Remember that the gang members are going to be much stronger in their powers and more skilled in combat. It's very unlikely that the students will win or even hold up much resistance in this fight. Maybe the next one. ))

Hope froze in panic as she saw a sharp looking high heel armed foot flying in the direction of her stomach. She couldn't move, there wouldn't have been time even if she had wanted to. Her eyes widened and she quickly braced for impact, but it never came. It was like something had blocked the kick, some invisible shield. Could it have been her powers?

The shield was not effective against the laser beams, or perhaps because Hope was unaware of them until it was too late, the shield was just not activated above her. A beam grazed her shoulder and it felt like it was on fire, but when she looked at it there was no mark on her clothes or her skin. How could something so painful leave no mark? The pain gradually subsided.

"So I'm not the only one who stayed behind today, huh?" Kade said as she approachedthe two.
"It's Drew right?" she said before turning to Riabhca
"I'm Kadence, but every one calls me Kade or once Kay" she said introducing her self.

"Yeah, that's what most people call me anyway. Everyone else who stuck around school went to an ice cream place a little bit ago. But Riabhca is new here so I was just showing her around a bit." Drew explained. "Get's kinda boring around here without class or something. ((Haha, if only he knew the battle taking place. )) Anything going on or are you as bored as I am."

Komodo's eyes darted around at the near choas now created by the beginnings of battle. He wasn't so sure that he trusted that no real harm would come to these students. He had to act like he was doing something but he didn't want to get involved in anyone else's fight. He spotted a girl by the door. Rushing over to her, he grabbed her by the shoulder and in a voice just loud enough for her to hear, he said, "get out of here. Run, act like I'm chasing you. But I won't hurt you, I let you get away."

before Caitlyn could figure out anything to do one of the gang members, a kid who looked too young to be a mutant, ran up to her and grabbed her shoulder."get out of here." he said " Run, act like I'm chasing you. But I won't hurt you, I let you get away." he said. he sounded like he was looking for an excuse not to fight. normally she'd probably have been fine with that; but her fear was still mitigated by her adrenaline rush and he was expecting her to run off and desert her friends. "no." she answered, as quietly as he had "first, I would probably hurt myself if I tried to run, and second, I don't like the idea of abandoning my friends. if you're looking for a way out of your fight, I'm not it." she pulled her shoulder back sharply, trying to shake him off.

Komodo was stunned when Caitlyn pulled herself away from his hand. Were these agents foolish enough to think they were any match for them? They couldn't have that much devotion to each other, that was something he had only found to be true in the gang, and even though only once you've proven yourself. He knew that these student agents had only known each other for a week at the most. It didn't make sense to him.

Maybe if he showed her just what she was dealing with, she wouldn't be so quick to stick around. He could make it into a good show for the rest of the gang too. "Well, if you're not going to run, then I guess we're going to fight." He raised both arms and shoved aiming toward her shoulders to try to push her against the wall of the building behind her.
