it didn't take much searching to find dinner; a substantial, though narrowing, flow of people pointed the way. by the time Caitlyn arrived the room was almost full, with a few seats here and there at different tables. she heaped herself a tray of food, then started scanning the crowd for a place to sit besides the near-empty table occupied by the convict from the tour.

Agent Cameri entered the dining hall. He clenched his jaw as he saw the number of students in there. It was going to be hard to find Jason. As he scanned the room, he noticed a couple tables that were nearly empty. At one of them was Jason. Cameri grinned just a little, I guess people found out about him pretty quickly.

Cameri casually made his way over to where Jason was. As he got behind Jason, he rested a hand on his shoulder. "Jason right?" he said slightly louder than normal tone. "It's great having you here at the academy with us."

Some of the students sitting nearby looked over surprised that Jason would be singled out and welcomed in such a way. Then Cameri bent over so that his mouth was right behind Jason's ear. In a hushed voice so that only Jason would hear, he said, "but remember what your consquences are if you don't play by the rules. We have eyes in the walls."

At that Cameri walked off smiling at a few of the students on the way out to make his appearance less suspicious.

"Sure, you can see him!" Katherine said happily. She saw Agent Cameri enter the room but tried to not look directly at him, though she watched him out of the corner of her eye until he left.

Izzy saw Agent Cameri enter the room. When he started walking toward where she was sitting, her heart began to beat a bit faster. Was she in trouble? Had she done something wrong? Forgotten something? Izzy's mind raced trying to figure out a reason for Cameri to want to speak with her. But to her relief, he stopped next to the prisoner at the table across from her and clapped a hand on the guy's shoulder. "Jason, right? It's great having you here at the academy with us."

Izzy blinked. He was joking, right? She watched as Cameri then bent down and whispered something to Jason. Izzy couldn't make it out, but somehow didn't think it was something good as she could sense the tension between them, even though Cameri was doing his best to look pleasant and unconcerned. Cameri then stood to his full height and looked up to meet Izzy's gaze. He smiled politely at her and then turned and walked out of the cafeteria. What in the world was that all about? Izzy asked herself as she watched the door to the cafeteria swing closed after the agent. She glanced back at Jason and met his eyes, then quickly dropped her gaze to her plate, swallowing hard.

Hope had met with some other students before dinner had started and they decided to check out some of the campus before dinner was served. There wasn't much to it, a handful of buildings, a pool and a basketball court. But the grounds were beautiful and well kept.

They got so caught up in talking and exploring that they forgot to pay attention to the time. Almost everyone was already eating and some were already done by the time Hope wandered back into the dining room. She got in place in the back of the short line and tried to look on up ahead to see what was being served.

" Hey, who are you?" JAson looked back at the guy. He hadn't even noticed that he had sat down at the table with him. He wondered what this guy was like. He was the only one how had the guts to sit next to the convict, so he'd give him props for that. but Jason wasn't so sure he was gonna like this guy. "Name's Flame." Jason looked over at the guys ID. "So, i'm guessing your Leon. Just wondering, what in the world is cell manipulation."

Jason had just asked the question when Agent cameri made his way to the table. By the time he walked away, Jason felt kinda stupid. He got this chance to stay out of prison and away from the life his parents had chosen anbd he almost blew it the first day. Jason redirected the subject back to Leon. "So........"

Connor listened intently on the tour and once it was over, walked up to his room. He looked down at his tag. Teleportation. He wondered if that was anything liketelevision. He'd have to find out later just what it was he could do.

He got to the door and walked in. There were two rooms. Both were empty, but he figured they wouldn't stay that way for long. He unpacked his stuff into the room he had chosen and walked back downstair to look around until he heard the call for dinner. He closed his eyes and tried to remember exactly where the woman who gave the tour had said the dining hall was. Soon, he had found his way there.

He didn't know where to sit. He saw a table with only two guys sitting at it. He figured that was fine. He grabbed his tray and headed for the table. He sat down at the far end and kept his head down. He wasn't here to make friends. He just needed the money.

Sammy followed Caitlyn down to the dining hall and grabbed some fod. She looked around at the group of people assembled there.

She hadn't realized that there were some many of them. So many like her!! She wondered what all of their powers might be and was excited by the thought of being able to train with all of them.

She looked around for a place to sit. She saw a table with a girl. She looked at Caitlyn and shrugged.

"That table looks good."

((Izzy is alone, right?? I figured maybe they could sit there with her...))

Izzy wasn't expecting the two girls to sit down next to her, but it was a pleasant surprise. They both seemed nice and their mood lightened the cool, awkward feeling that Izzy had after Cameri left. "Hi! I'm Caitlyn!" The girl to Izzy's right said as she sat down.

Izzy swallowed a mouthful of food and then smiled at the girl. "I'm Izzy. Good to meet you. I wondered when the tables would start filling up. Can't believe there are so many people here." Izzy commented, nodding her head towards the rest of the room and wiping her hands on her napkin. She then turned to the other girl and stuck out her hand. "Name's Izzy. What's your name?"

Aura stood in the hallway for a moment, before she decided to explore the school. She hated being unfriendly and cross all the time, but that was the only way she knew how to deal with the pain inside of her. She looked around and truly was amazed at the school. She had no idea how the next few weeks would be, but she was determined to fight through whatever obstacles she faced and make some friends. I should start by apologizing to my room mate...she thought. She turned and found her way back to her room but found it empty. Sighing, she went ahead and laid back down on her bed, ready to wait for Kade to return.

When Hope had finally gotten who food, she noticed that most people were already done eating or close to it. She hoped there wasn't a set time to be finished eating, but as she remembered, there was nothing left scheduled except the first training class in the morning.

She looked around the trying to spot a place to sit. A few people she recognized, but they looked like they were about to leave anyway. Then she spotted the people who were in line right in front of her. There was room at their table and they had just started eating, so she headed over there hoping they wouldn't mind her joining them.

Caitlyn finished shoveling down the rest of the food and pushed her plate away with a satisfied air. most of the other people were finishing up too, and the conversation at their table seemed to have hit a dead end.

"so, uh, what are your powers Izzy? did you know about them before you came here? and Sammy, same question?"

Hope walked into the classroom and found a seat not far from the door. The set up was not like what she was used to. It was a large room with a big empty space in the center. The desks were lined up in two rows along three of the walls facing toward the center. The fourth wall had a large projection screen on it. A projector was attached to the center of the ceiling and was hooked up to a computer.

Hope yawned waiting for the instructor and the rest of the students to come in. She had been up late last night, partly because of unpacking her stuff but mostly because she was still too wired to sleep. Now she could hardly keep her eyes open; she was not a morning person.

((I'll have the instructor start class once a couple more people have checked in.))
