RemoveBeforeFlight - an amazing story of faith. God is with you through your hardship and I admire your courage.
Out of interest, do you think the same attitude exists in all Muslim states? I know of one person in my Church here who comes from a different Arab country to the one in which I am living and is worried about telling his family - the Church is helping him with this problem I think. However, the Muslims here seem really nice for the most part....the people I work with.....I can't imagine them wanting to kill anybody and as stated before I can worship freely as long as I don't minister to Muslims.
Can I also ask what it was that was said to you that helped you accept Jesus as your Saviour? I want to know in case the opportunity ever arises in conversation.
Thanks and God Bless you. You're in my prayers.
Well, for the most part, I can say "Yes, indeed."
Of course everyone that accepts Islam is not monster, there are people like you say, here in my country too. But the majority of the people do not respect any other belief, even talking about Christianity- when you start a sentence like "Christianity is..." they all start to stare at you all so much surprised and angry, as if they're listening to an alien or something. You can never persuade them that the Bible has not been changed, no way. If you try to make them question their beliefs, youre in danger. If you mention another belief, youre in danger. If you carry a cross around your neck, youre in danger. If you dont answer the muslim greeting "Salaamalaikum", youre not even considered as a man. This is what the majority does.
But as I said above, there ARE people like you said. The worst thing is, Islam does order violence, so they're following their religion rules. I've been many times in mosques, I've listened to the imams.
Yes, of course, I'm used to that question, as its not a common thing for a Turk to convert to Christianity.
In my story, I said that the Islamic doctrines never made a sense to me in my life. How could a God order to humiliate women (come on muslim fellas, it IS humiliating, look around and see), to kill who doesnt share the same belief with you, threaten people, scare people ? A book full of contradictions, a religion full of evil doings. Thats how I came to my seventeen- I was nothing more than a theist, but Muslim was written in my ID.
I was afraid, because in Islam, God never forgives someone abandoning this religion, direct ticket to hell. As it was always taught to us:
" Islam is the last and true religion. Other two religions, Christianity and Judaism have been degenerated by people, only Islam is accepted in God's place. Christians and Jews will go to hell. If anyone converts to one of those, he/she will have eternal damnation. Talking to the Christians is sin, talking to those who chooses to convert to Christianity is sin. Those that convert are traitors, they are spies of the enemies. They're trying to divide this country into parts."
Can you sense the fear that people have here ?
In my nineteen, I said, why would this be true ? What if Islam is a made up religion, what if Christianity is true ? Then I began to collect information about Christianity, and I realized that it perfectly fits to the criterias of a heavenly religion. I found non-violence, tolerance, and pure love to everyone, no matter what. Islam says "An eye for an eye". Christianity says " If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic." I read the Bible, I saw the differences between it and the Quran, and I was amazed. I read a lot about Christian theology, and I was amazed. I've read what Jesus Christ did to save us, and I was amazed again, especially when compared to the lifestyle of Mohammad.
I was really ashamed that I didnt think of this and didnt to this before.
