WE are seeing here an entirely prescientific mythological cosmology. This is literature that should be read contemplatively for spiritual meaning rather than as literal history.
Oh, I believe the flood happened. Yes, some of the language is poetic. It was a story about a real event that was passed down, not a scientific explanation of how it happened.

So what holds the waters above? I'm picturing a big bathtub in heaven? Maybe the angels left the faucet on too long and caused the flood.

What separated the waters in the Red Sea

The Bible only says a great wind from the east. The story refers to the Reed Sea not the Red Sea. The Reed Sea was the two shallow tidal lakes in the Sinai known in modern times as the Greater and Lesser Bitter Lakes. They are now part of the Suez Canal system. Moses knew the area, he would have had to be a complete fool to lead his people down to the Red Sea.

That would be at the shallow narrows between the two lakes. At low tide and with a strong wind the narrows would have been passable. Incoming tide would make passage nearly impossible.

... it's flat!

Interviewer: "You've been there! Is earth really a sphere hanging in outer space?"

Hermaszewski: "Earth is flat, as some expect. I didn't expect this question. I assure you, it's flat."

Food for thought.
I don't speak russian but I think that guy is making a joke.

It looks like a clip from a spoof TV show. If the Earth is flat, how did he get into space and spend eight days orbit in the Salyut space station photographing it?
He had to break through the firmament and the water thingy.

Thank you for bumping up my thread. This is important information for those who still retain the ability to think and question for themselves.

No problem. I enjoy a bit of light entertainment along with all the heavy discussions on here.

Hi 71,

So, did he tell anyone what he saw on the other side? According to the report, the space vehicle was put into an orbital path circling the earth. Therefore, he got to see the flat of both sides...right?
And from the edge. That would have been a good photo.
