The majority of that video is good theology and I evidently missed the place where he said if people didn't agree with him they were done for...
...The Scapular & Rosary are "weapons" as are the Sacred Scriptures.
...They help people in their walk - they are not the litmus test of it.

I tend to avoid people who have an unhealthy obsession with the Apocalypse. Yes, there is some Catholic tradition here -- from the Prophecy of Malachi (the mystical list of popes) to the Three Days of Darkness and some of the authorized Marian apparitions -- but one should not become obsessed about personal revelation and people who set themselves up as "prophets".

## I don't bother with any talk about the Apocalypse that doesn't take its literary genre seriously. It's an apocalypse, not a predictive (or any other) prophecy. I have no time for the so-called "Prophecy of St. Malachy", and as for stuff like the Three Day's Darkness, or the Emperor of the End Times, and stuff like that, well, it's interesting to read about, but not something to believe.

## That US Christians don't have a healthy sense of proportion, and are a bit too Bible-soaked for their own good ?

A lot of the date-setting & Antichrist-spotting is a hangover from British influence. J. N Darby began as a Church of Ireland vicar. Edward Irving is ultimately responsible for premillennialism. And the chaos of "schemes" for working out when the 1260 year-days would expire started in the UK. Even Mormonism can be blamed on Britain - Joseph Smith's parents were Scotch-Irish emigrants to the US. The "messiah complex", & "exceptionalism" of the US, can be blamed on 16th-centory English Protestantism. Mrs White was certainly influenced by 18th-century British authors.

Now, by contrast, date-setting & Antichrist-spotting in the UK, & the various eschatological schemes, are confined to the fringes - 150 years ago, vicars of C of E interested themselves in such things as the identities of the Apocalyptic Beasts - but now, only if they are Fundamentalists.
