• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

My mother has sufferred from schizophrenia for a very long time. She was however the most stable and wondering mother figure I would ask for. It's a very sad problem. Mum is the most caring and kind soul on earth and does not deserve to have this complaint. She is now on medication and stable, but she does not have a real life and making the most of it. I pray for a happy future. Thanks for reading.

Welcome on the forums.

Sad to hear about your mum, I know what it is like, though I'm most likely theopposite of her as I'm unstable most of the time.

Great to hear and see that you love her. How blessed you are to hold onto love and respect. That our Heavenly Father may grand you everything you need to continue to do that!

Mentally ill people deserve love and respect, not labels and, fear and disdain.

There is much that can be done to make the schizo better. Sometimes it's worse than at other times, but the illness IS manageable, with God's grace. It's a difficult cross to carry, but with a little help of friends and family, it's doable. God has some happiness in store for us schizos too.

oh yes he does and dont I know it :) you are exactly right lutherangerman :). God has happiness in store for everyone, we just have to get to the point where we can accept it :). I pray that no one gets discouraged in their struggles to come face to face with God, because God is great and loving and all those good things, let us work together to support each other in our walk with him :).
