Well.. Not really. I think you can kill Vivec but you never get certain items that are necessary. It might be possible to kill Dagoth Ur before fulfilling all the tasks before hand, but the prophecy wouldn't be fulfilled, hence the story wouldn't be "beaten." I think the only way to actually win the main quest by beating Vivec is through a mod called the Sixth House.

Anyway.. I've beaten the main quest (twice) and I've beaten Tribunal. I never really got around to Solstheim (From Bloodmoon). Does anyone else play on PC? Played any good mods?

I just picked up Morrowind again on a whim. Too bad they didn't have the GOTY edition as my savegames won't work with the standard version but I made a dark elf assassin and he's doing pretty well so far. I'd forgotten how much fun it was but I miss my Redguard Knight and his uber gear. :D

I wouldn't mind picking up a version with "everything in it", but I always found it very confusing; was I supposed to just install that first CD? Was there stuff on the "Construction Kit" CD I needed? Other stuff I should download?

But... Mostly, I just never quite got to caring about my hypothetical character. Recently reloaded my Windows box, so I've reinstalled mwind; maybe it'll be fun this time. I decided not to waste time trying to make an archer, now that I know it's pretty much useless. But... I dunno. Maybe I'd like the expansion things. Maybe I wouldn't. Seems huge and confusing.

My brother just bought Morrowind for Xbox. We've spent countless hours now playing it, I really like it but I can get annoyed at it. I'm stuck trying to rid Mournhold of the Dark Brotherhood assasins. It's challenging.

Blood moon will kick your butt. I had a nord who easily beat dagoth Ur. Could fight anything, summon golden saints, a near full suit of armor of the highest quality(magical stuff, Lord's mail), the original Robe of St. Roris. on and on. And yet those werewolves plain tore me up. I finally got through, but with those wolves near the end I had a hard time just surviving.

It has been awhile since I have played the game. I actually played daggerfall more than morrowind. Morrowind was pretty, but was more limited in terms of area. Yes they had lots of side quests and the modding gives it life, but for me daggerfall was a more magical experience.

There are some good mods, one being Legendary objects. Not a quest really, but adds some interesting objects to the game. Excalibur, Bilbo's ring, etc.

But he doesn't transform wraithgaurd right? I think after you kill him and check his corpse, it says old dwemer artifact or something and it looks like a dwemer glove. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am..

Wow Silent Poet.. Does sound pretty tough. One of my favorite mods is Illuminated Order.. I love being a lich so much!

I basically had to slow down on the werewolves. I also had to let the guy I was escorting die. Once he was gone it was relatively simple to get through. The tip I have read and agree with is to try to take on only one were creature at a time. move slow, finish each one off before engaging another. Summoned creatures are of only minor benefit here. The problem is with summoning multiple creatures, which basically you have to do if you are going to use them, because the wolves even went through golden saints fairly easy. You can do it, but it is kind of hard to get enough creatures going. Of course I wonder if the werewolves are leveled creatures, I think I was in like the 60s more or less levelwise when I did that quest. So even golden saints would be out matched. If not leveled then God be with anybody going in there.

Check new drivers from ATI and that the graphics settings are oka, it should run well with that machine!

Figured it out, I think. I was playing around with settings, and it turns out that, while several reviews have said that resolution doesn't change performance much, on the Radeon 9600, it makes a HUGE difference. I went from 1600x1200 to 1280x960, and suddenly everything's a lot better. I can make 20fps with a medium view distance, or accept lower FPS and get a really incredible view distance, or even turn on the TRUFORM stuff, which is cool looking.

I guess in another year or so, graphics cards will get another notch more incredible. Heh. My rule of thumb is, I buy graphics cards that don't need a separate fan on the heat sink; I figure that's the boundary between "cost-effective" and "specialized".

Made a new character; now that I understand the levelling rules, I made my "primary" skills be the hardest ones to advance, and I put a lot of the spellcasting skills, as well as athletics and acrobatics, in misc; that way, I can train them up, and get big stat gains when I level, but I don't level before I'm ready to. :)
