This is the 2nd day in a row on the way home from work that I have listened to Mormon advertising on the radio.

The first is a lady who recalls her wedding vows and stating she had a revelation and shock when the words, "'till death do us part".

Well, she states that she did not want her marriage to end at death. I guess her reason for being Mormon is that she will still be married after death.

Well, Jesus gave his lecture on this and Jesus is Lord. From a NT and Christian viewpoint this is what is known a heresy.

The Mormons also claim that Jesus and satan were brothers.

The other radio ad I heard was someone who said they became Mormon because they wanted answers to all of lifes questions.

I suppose that the Book of Mormon has many answers given the constant and generous editing even though in its own pages re-editing or changing the text is outlawed.

If you go to Rome or any ancient place in the Bible you can dig up or visit those ancient cities or coins and artifacts mentioned in the Bible. I do not see anyone out in the desert of Utah trying to locate and excavate the ancient cities or artifact the Book of Mormon claim to be there, and I live in a neihboring state.

My answer to this is - Just because you believe something doesn't make it true - no matter how much you want it to be. I used to wish and wish really hard that I would go to sleep and wake up the next morning and it would be Christmas, (it was usually the middle of the year) and no matter how hard I wish or believed it, it never happened!

I remember Kent Hovind (a Baptist scientist who preaches against evolution) discussing on one of his videos a dialogue he had with Mormons at his door.

He said that two Mormons came to his door and said "We'd like to talk to you about the Lord".
Kent replied "Which Lord do you want to talk about? Yours or mine?"
They said "We serve the same God".
Kent said "Do you believe that your God has a body of flesh and bone?".
They said, "Yes, that is what we believe."
He said, "Well, the Bible says that God is a spirit." He then went on to ask them, "Do you believe that your God lives on the planet Kolob?"
They answered "Yes, we do believe that".
Kent went on, "Do you believe that your God has spirit wives in heaven?"
They said "Yes, that is what we believe".
He said "Do you believe that your God has normal relations with those spirit wives and produces spirit babies?"
They replied, "Yes, we do believe that".
Kent said "Do you believe that if a spirit baby is a valiant spirit baby, a good spirit baby, that when it comes to earth it gets a white body, but if it's a bad spirit baby, when it comes to earth it gets a black body?"
And they said "You're not supposed to know that, but yes, that is what we believe".

What a load of total garbage!!!

I might suggest that rather than mock them, we pray for them. Most of the people you meet who are Mormons are not responsible for the untruths and don't know the Truth in the Catholic Church. Perhaps more time spent in understanding and sharing our faith would help them see Christ more clearly.

Just a thought.

And they said "You're not supposed to know that, but yes, that is what we believe".

And let this last sentence be a message to anyone considering this faith. This should warn you not to do it.

Good thoughts.

It's very important that we are able to share and explain orthodoxy with them. Mocking their beliefs will only push them away.

It is my understanding that Mormon archaeologists have looked for evidence, especially the battles, but of course found none.

Sorry, Stivvy, but I think posts like the one removed aren't in good taste. I don't honor the Mormon religion, but I respect anyone who tries with integrity to live as they believe God wants them too. And I'm just not comfortable with mockery as a verbal habit after Christ made such a point of wanting us to be characterized by love.

I'm sorry if this is rude. Should I have taken this off line?

I doubt the veracity of this story. The "white baby" story, and Mother(s) in Heaven stuff was never official LDS doctrine. Furthermore, I've never met a Mormon Missionary who would engage in a conversation such as this with anyone.
