Stolen no, but we are free to make our own choices arent we? We condemn ourselves, and choose to concemn ourselves. If we deny christ and do not accept him at all (which is basically staring into the sun and saying it doesnt exist), it wouldent make sense to be saved...

sadly, some people will do that... even when at the last days. He atoned for our sins, but we choose to accept his grace... in a sense, ya know?

And... its quite possible not everything is in words in the Book of Mormon. WE believe it to be the keystone of our religion (in a roman arch, it was the very top piece of stone that held everything else together). So, like... maybe IT itself may not be the fulness of the gospel, but with it it provides the fulness of the gospel... like, its that final piece. And, I may very well be wrong that it doesnt have everything, I would have to look through it again... I dont know it top to bottom yet, its still a bit to big to memorize

Ok. But I have to go what Joseph Smith claimed. And it seems to be false, right? It does not say it is it may be the corner stone, but it IS the FULLNESS of the gospel. Fullness means it is incomplete right?

I would not spend my time if I did not care for you. Many friends of mine are within the LDS Church and they will not listen to this. Please, read what I have posted.

Hello, just wanted to say hi, got some friends around who gave me the link, probably as a practical joke...

But where are my Mo's at? Anybody out there got some Mormon in them?

So how is everybody? Feelin religious? Good...

couple questions. Why divide all these forums by your religion, isnt that kinda mean? I mean, people should be allowed to post wherever they want, no matter what there beliefs...

and I dont see any mention of us Mormons anyways... The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints is Christian, any forum for Us to discuss in?

Um, I'm a newbie to this forum, but this newbie can read that this is a Christian forum. I'm sure everyone here is happy you're here. Maybe your eyes will be opened and you will leave the cult you are a member of.

A CULT???? YOU CALL US A CULT??? How dare you call our religion a cult, its as recognized just as much as you are, has more correct doctrine.

We have a modern day prophet, 12 apostles, believe in baptism by immersion, also have the priesthood, ordained by the laying on of hands, as well as the gift of the holy ghost. We are organized by God himself. We are certainly not a cult, our membership is on the international level, and has well over a few million members, and over 100 temples worldwide.

A cult indeed....

How close minded are you? Just because you think you are all set in your relgion, and feel you are saved does not make you know everything.

I see that you are only 16, so I'll take that into consideration.

All those facts you state about the mormon church are interesting, but do not show that your religion is true. All it shows is that there are many who have fallen into the false teachings of your church.

When you're studying in your missionary classes, do some research into what makes a prophet false, then take that knowledge and apply it your your founder J. Smith and B. Young.

I am thinking teacher (14 - 16 year old boys have that office in Mormonism). The Mormons use fancy titles and busywork to divert their adherents from the Lord and into devotion to a manmade institution. An agnostic's perspective was that "All other religions worship God but the Mormons worship man. Nowhere in the Bible is that presented as a good thing.

We recieve it when we are 8 after baptism... we do indeed have the gift.

God is unchanging, and our church is set just as his was in Christs Ministry

Good grief moroni. How can you say your church is unchanging? Your doctrine can change at the win of your President, Prophet, Seer and Relevator. Your doctrine has changed due to political pressure on at least two occasions. Your temple ceremony has changed when new converts saw what you say about Christians.

God for sure in unchanging. You cannot say that about your group.

Possibly you are right that Mormonism is no longer a cult. It is too large and recognized to be a cult. At least some would say that. But cult or false religion take your pick.

What does size have to do with a cult being a cult? Its the beliefs that make a cult a cult.

And how accurate are the numbers that the LDS church puts forth? They claim 11 million members but how many are attending? Also, why hasn't there been any financial disclosure since 1959 by the Mormons?

calgal, you of all people should know that some things just have to remain a secret.

Captain Moroni (I think), don't feel bad about your religion, or pay heed to people calling it a cult. There are weird things about every denomination and religion, so it's all in the mind of the beholder. And the people who run this site believe LDS is a cult, so that's that. It has been discussed many times in here that whether someone is a christian depends on their own beliefs, actions, etc. God knows your heart, your religion doesn't always portray what your individual take on the matter is. I'm sure there are many who didn't chose their religion, but were raised in it, and feel the most comfortable there. If you feel God has lead you to the LDS organization, then who's to say it's wrong? Maybe this site will open your eyes to a different take on christianity, and if that's not how you feel, then keep doing whatever God tells you. :)

You might be in a cult if...
 • Your leader’s prophecies must be spell checked first.
 • Special music is performed by the leader’s eight wives.
 • The parking lot has designated spaces for aliens.
 • Fatigues must be worn at the church retreat.
 • The sacred writings are kept in a three-ring binder.
 • The church motto is "In Bob We Trust."
 • Services are canceled because the rattlesnake got loose.

I guess leaving that cult makes me think harder and longer and look for fact. The OT and NT are chock full of facts. The Mormon additions are not. Hmmmm!

A thread on the Book of Mormon "facts" would be interesting. Do you think the same responses will be made here?

Oh I hope not! It will be nice to discuss cureloms (mythical Mormon animals) without folks getting their garmies in a bunch!

Calgal, Wrigley,

You know, for some reason when I saw the title to this thread I thought drsteve had started it.

It could have been, since certain rules don't apply here.

Seriously though, it'll be nice to get a different perspective here.
