more depressed lately

For whatever reason, I am feeling more depressed lately and less interesting in things around me. I feel isolated and alone and like all the enjoyment in life is gone. Not sure where God is in all this.

One of the things my counselor told me, and he's a very wise old man. Everyone needs to have a dream in life. It can be a simple dream, it can be huge dream, but people need to have them. They need to have something that drives them, they need a purpose to work towards. Older people who retired, and don't have a plan for what to do when they retired often pass away and give up sooner than those who do have a dream or idea. Dreams & goals keep people going no matter how big or small they are.

What's something that drives you? That makes you feel alive? Is there anyone's life you can get involved in? Perhaps you can make a difference in their life.

Is there a hobby you might like to try, or some way you can get involved in church?

Find a dream / goal you have, and chase it.

It could be you're just going through one of the valleys. We're going to have high times ,and we're going to have low sometimes. Sometimes the low times will build up our faith even more. It's during the hard times that our faith gets tested the most.

Perhaps Satan is trying to keep you from doing something. Perhaps you were on the right road, and he wants to push you off of it. It could be a lot of things.
