Then you are not saved.. Because you believe that you must cease sinning.. Of course you still sin and thus by your own preaching Jesus has not saved you from your sins and therefore by your own preaching you are not saved..

Unless you are claiming that you are now without sin ????

I confess my sins to the Lord and ask for forgiveness daily. As I am a sinner.

OSAS is not biblical. Salvation is a daily walk with Jesus. No one is without sin. You can chose to walk away from the Lord and be lost or you can repent of our sins and be saved from our sins.

Your comments above tend to indicate that forgiveness after repentance is not in your understanding.

This mis-interpretation and mis-application of scripture, applied to the born-again Believer, is at the very center of the many, many debates about our Savior, Jesus Christ. The multiple "belief systems" overflowing around the world, and devastatingly across China, pick and choose their interpretation, getting in the way of the Holy Spirit who is the ONLY interpreter and applier of scripture. It is impossible for those of us who profess our Spiritual birth in Jesus to Spiritually argue and debate what God has caused to be written. I cannot Spiritually "believe" one thing while you Spiritually "believe" another. Impossible. One or both has to be wrong. Debating the Holy Spirit is heresy. Refusing to acknowledge Jesus as Savior prior to death is blasphemy.

The solution? Each of us has to get out of the way. That begins when we confess Jesus as Savior, Romans 10:8-13. Our confidence, our joy, is underlined in Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 8:1, John 5:24, John 3:16-17. We are thusly declared the "Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus," 2 Corinthians 5:21. We can drift away from our confession; we can slip into sinful words and deeds, but we cannot fall from His Amazing Grace, abandoning His imparted Righteousness. Glory to God, 1 John 1:9 is right there for all to behold. When we slip away or drift He stands right there, He, our Rock, having never left, encouraging us to repent, to resume our one-on-one Spiritual relationship with God through Jesus, in the unending Power of the Holy Spirit, with Jesus as the everlasting Mediator.

(Check out "unending" and "everlasting".)

Now......... Matthew 7. The entire Book of Matthew was written directly to the Jews in that day, seeking to point them not to Law but to Grace. Their calling was to receive Jesus as their Promised Messiah, in accordance with the Hebrew Bible, the Abrahamic Covenant. Jesus Himself encapsulated and fulfilled every aspect of the imperatives in the Hebrew Bible.

Many of the Jewish religion did not then and do not now acknowledge Jesus as the Promised Messiah of the Nation of Hebrews as a distinct people group. If the Hebrews in that day had said "YES!" to identifying Jesus as the Messiah Promise, the Hebrew people group would have been saved in that day. IF.

Matthew 7:22-23 refers directly to those of the Jesus-denying Hebrew Nation, now appearing before the Great White Throne Judgment, offering up excuses and pleas.

Commentary included:

22 Many (out of the Hebrew people group, those who were offered the opportunity to acknowledge me as the Promised Messiah of the Hebrew Nation, via the Promise in the Abrahamic Covenant) will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you (you never acknowledged me; you wandered about, taking things into your own hands, absent my Promise). Depart from me, ye that work iniquity.*

*noun
  1. immoral or grossly unfair behavior.
    "a den of iniquity"
    synonyms: wickedness, sinfulness, immorality, impropriety;
    vice, evil, sin;
    villainy, criminality;
    odiousness, atrocity, egregiousness;
    outrage, monstrosity, obscenity, reprehensibility;
    turpitude
    "many runaways become the pawns of these merchants of iniquity"
    sin, crime, transgression,
    wrongdoing, violation,
    offenses.
# How many of the Hebrew folk became the pawns of the merchants of iniquity (Hebrew priesthood leadership that urged denial of the Christ and threatened punishment for those who did not.) These are they which appear before the Great White Throne (along with a ton of non-Jews).

Where do those Jews who acknowledged Jesus as Messiah, and those non-Jews who confessed Him as Savior, appear? The Judgment Seat of Christ, not for eternal punishment, but for rewards.

We will have to agree to disagree.

"""I confess my sins to the Lord and ask for forgiveness daily. As I am a sinner."""

I believe what the Bible says::

Romans 10: KJV
{8} But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; {9} That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

You can believe that you must confess your sins to the LORD and ask for forgiveness daily.. But woe to you if you ever forget to confess a sin.. Your belief that you can only be forgiven a sin if you confess it and ask for forgiveness in your works based belief system in action..

I believe Jesus and trust in the Atonement He secured for my salvation and i believe that atonement covers all my transgressions against His will.. So the works based weight of having to confess all my sins and ask for forgiveness everyday has been taken off my shoulders.. Imagine on the last day of your life committing a sin and then dying of a car accident before you had the chance of confessing it to the LORD and asking for forgiveness... Terrifying hey..

""OSAS is not biblical""

And i agree.. OSAS is not Biblical a person can cast away their salvation by coming to disbelieve in the Gospel truth..

"""Salvation is a daily walk with Jesus.""'

I disagree.. Salvation is a state of being.. One is either in a state of saved or they are in a state of being lost.. Salvation is like pregnancy.. There is no half pregnant woman and there are no half saved people..

"""No one is without sin."""

Agreed no one is without sin..

"""Your comments above tend to indicate that forgiveness after repentance is not in your understanding."""

And your comments above tend to indicate that you believe that your salvation is dependent on you being diligent in your work of confessing all your sins and asking for forgiveness for them daily..

My days are so bleak. Depression and hopelessness. I cry constantly. I see everyone perishing around me and I can't give them the gospel of peace because I'm not even sure what it is anymore. What is the good news? It IS good news...but in what way? I spend my days fearing sin and trying to constantly be watching bible videos or reading articles, trying to find some hope to get me through the day. I dread the nights because I usually have just read some scripture that scares me and I start thinking about death and hell. Intense loneliness overcomes me. Thankfully I live with my believing mother who I can go to for some company, even late at night. We have begun going to a church but have only been once so far.
Hi, I don't pretend to be in your shoes but I do know loneliness. Loneliness and anxiety; that's been the story of most of my life, especially of late although I admit it seems to be getting better. I wish I had a mother to give me shelter. My mother was a sick woman and now she's dead. That is some comfort (that she's dead). Be grateful for what you have.

I try to remember that although it seems sometimes like my state of mind will last forever, it's only a temporary state. Nothing is permanent on this world, not even the earth or cosmos themselves. I try to put things in perspective. I am only a tiny fragment of the whole. Microscopic. An atom in a grain of sand waiting to be reunited with the Father. That gives me some peace.

God doesn't render me perfect even when I turn my will and life over to his care. I've had backslides that are substance abuse related. The only thing to do when I've fallen is to "get back on the horse." Trite maybe, but it's the truth. What else can be expected of us?

Also, the pendulum swings to the left in accordance with the force that it was propelled in the right. If you don't know what to do to change, I suggest action. Try to find someone worse off than yourself to be of service to. Maybe your mom needs some help with some fixin up? Anything to get you out of yourself right now. This action will carry you through the bleakest of nights.

I hope this is helpful. All glory to God and Jesus Christ.

No one prior to accepting Jesus can reach Him by being good. There is none good, no not one. That included me, you. All our righteousness is as filthy rags... so there's no way we could ever be good enough for God. That takes God's Spirit to reach us and save us. It has nothing to do with us.

Fear is a tool of the devil. Rebuke him and he has to flee (use God's Word and power.) No place of worship should put you back under his control and in bondage as a true believer is free through Christ.

May God give you wisdom and a clear mind.
