What difference does it make, maybe they evolved right next to each other. The only thing that matters is modern man. Why get into endless discussion & speculation over extinct species?
Well, since "man" usually refers to our species, while "monkey" refers to any of a number of species with similar characteristics, I'd say "monkey." Of course, since you're not being too specific, I can't be too precise myself.Warrior FC: What came first "Monkey" or "Man" and how do you know?

Man definitly comes first.
How do I know?
I just opened my dictionary - and Behold! - "man" comes before "monkey".

I have to say language didn't start at the tower of Babel there is no evidence of that. Other than the bible.
Oh, that is easy, whatever language they were speaking before the tower of Babel when all the languages in the world were scrambled and confused.
