  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm supposed to move out of state a week from today to attend the university I'm transferring to. The trouble is, I don't even have a tenth of the money I need to make it through the year. In fact, I'm not sure I have enough for one quarter. I've applied for all the "free money" (grants and loans) that I can, but didn't recieve anything. My only option is loans.

My school was supposed to give me about $5,000 for next year, and I had applied for an outside loan to take care of the rest. It was pretty sizable...and I was turned down. Well, I recieved an offer of another loan, which would give me about $800 a quarter. I thought that was $800 in addition to what the school was already giving me, but no. It was $800 TOTAL. My previous loan offer had been voided by this one. So, I'm in pretty dire circumstances. I really thought that going to this school was something God wanted me to do. He gave me reason to believe it was in more than one situation. Now, though, I'm not so sure. He hasn't provided the money I need, and it's really getting down to the wire. I still plan on going down there next week as if I had piles of money at my fingertips, and I'm going to hope that God comes through and gives me a way to get what I need to attend school. If I can't, I don't know what I'll do.....

If you guys could pray that God provides me with enough money to get through school, that would be great. I'm not afraid of debt, but I think I
d rather win the lottery or something. :)

Will say a prayer for you fieldmouse.
Take things one day at a time, If you have enough to get started in school, then that may be all the Lord thinks you need at this time. He may have plans to provide for you in other ways once you get there. You might be able to find a part time job once you get started in school, sometimes there are jobs available that go along with your field of study that count as credit to your classes. Just keep trusting in the Lord and if it is his will that you stay there, he will provide what you need to do so, when the need arises.

I have indeed prayed for this request. I understand these difficulties. I have two Son's who went through college on grants and loans and I am familair with them going to school with no funds waiting. But God made it possible for them to start and on Fee Day there money was there. It is amazing to watch God work.

I don't know what He has in mind for you, but whatever it is, I know it is Special. Kepp your faith up and rest in Jesus!
