Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

It is where you stated, " But just counting CBC members, 25% of the US population is twice the percentage of black people in this country (13%). No other race in the history of this country has ever had that much representative power in proportion to population; and if you count the members who are not CBC members, it is even more! IMO To suggest there aren’t enough black members of congress is as absurd as suggesting there aren’t enough black men in the NBA; black people have plenty of political power in this country."
So what here do you disagree with?
It's almost as if you forgot how white guys had 100% representative power no matter what the demographics of the population was.
Which is far from 200%. My point was that it is absurd to suggest black people lack political power in the House like the link was suggesting.

Why do you need our friend to prove anything to you?
Are you happy with the way justice is meted out in our land?
Is having the largest prison population in the world the “land of the free” should be about?
“But they can’t prove it’s racist!”

Keep telling yourself that.
What should be done with criminals?

No...this bail reform nonsense and decriminalization of theft should stop.

Is it because we are unjust?

They can't.

You ask for evidence of systemic racism....they point to a disparity.

You ask how they know it's caused by systemic racism....they point to the exact same disparity.

The evidence is the both the only identifier, and somehow the result of a hidden process, of a nonsense concept.

We can actually chart that out visually if you want.

Or you can picture the word systemic racism and just draw a circle from the word looping back to the word.

What we have here are people who don't really understand what a disparity is.
It isn't racism that causes the disparity between
white and asian academic achievement in the usa.

Oh once again they did not mention ANYTHING about the fields people were working in not comparing experience, education etc in THAT field.

Just another disingenuous article spouting the same nonsense.

A white chemical engineer with the exact education and experience do a not earn 18% more than a black one where the only difference is the color of their skin.
an article from Science News presented the work of researchers who followed graduates of major Universities across the country. The found a significant amount of pay disparage between white and black scientists.

they found that white graduates working in chemical Enginering earned an average of $78,500 per year. Black graduates working in chemical Enginering earned an average of $66,000 per year a difference on 16%. the pay disparity more than doubled when they looked at white male chemical engineers and black female chemical engineers .

I'm glad to see you admit that inequality should be the norm. Who should be on top though That's right white men.

You think white men should be in top? I'm surprised. I would think that you would be more in line with my thinking which is the best man or woman for the job regardless of their color.

Am I wrong there?

They still don't compare apples to apples. Not all white chemical engineers or computer engineers.make the same money. That's why they have average salaries. Payscale did research on the exact subject and discovered when all things were equal blacks made 2 cents on the dollar less than whites. And whites earned 2 cents on the dollar less than Asians.

The article mentions microagressions etc. That's such nonsense. This is all biased bogus nonsense. As the article points out there are not as many blacks pursuing those fields. If there were they would earn more money. It talked quite a bit about the lack of them pursuing those fields.

You don't automatically get top dollar when you get into the fields. Sorry but this article is just another race bashing story that does not give you the full picture. They all do that because they have an agenda which is to make blacks victims and whites victimizers and privileged.

The FACTS are when you make all things equal blacks earn only 2 cents less than whites. That's it.

You go ahead and post all the articles that twist reality all you want. I'm not going to respond to them anymore because I know the agenda and I know that they are not honest.

Are ALL factors considered?
I bet Asian grads get the highest
salaries.
Two of my Chinese relatives in NYC
are law school grads.

Here's the deal- if you go to law school
you better go to a good one and
outperform the average there.

Some law schools have very low pass rates
on bar exams, very low prestige with
employers.

Of COURSE those grads don't earn much.

My relatives attended ivy league schools
AND had jobs with "Fab Five" law firms
before they'd even graduated.

That's not white privilege, or any other
racism.

The black / white disparity may be
real enough but to just take that fact,
and attribute it to racism, giving
less than due diligence to considering
all factors is nothing short of intellectual dishonesty.

And an evident agenda.

I went to Payscale and searched for research on wage disparity based on race and I found this: Racial Wage Gap for Men " We analyzed the racial wage gaps, or differences in earnings, between white men and men of color using data from the PayScale online salary survey. We find there is a consistent gap in earnings between black or African American men and white men. Even as black or African American men climb the corporate ladder, they still make less than equally qualified white men. They are the only racial/ethnic group that does not achieve pay parity with white men at some level. African American men have the largest uncontrolled pay gap relative to white men. They earn $0.87 for every dollar a white man earns."

Why did you pick that stat? You have an agenda that's why. That stst is based again on the same thing all those that have an agenda use. The stat is meaningless because it compairs total wages. It does not take into account what the job is where the job is experience or education. It's a bogus stat.

I noticed where you didn't post the FACTS that they found when they compaired wages with equal jobs, education experience etc. THOSE jobs showed a 2 cents per dollar difference. It also showed a 2 cents an hour difference between whites and Asians.
You didn't state that did you. It's because you have an agenda. The stats you listed are meant to be misleading by those that use them in the media and the race baiters and activists.

If you read the study you that it does indeed take variables such as education, experience, time on a job and geographic location.

The defined the disparity in pay here as "the amount that a man of color earns for every dollar that a comparable white man earns. That is, this is the pay difference that exists between white men and men of color after we control for all measured compensable factors."

This particular study looked at individuals with bachelor's degrees and in comparable jobs, with experience of between 7 and 15 years and matches comparisons using geographic location.

Not total wages.

and the result of the study was that African American men with the same education, in the same field, in the same area and with the same amount of work experience earn $0.87 for every dollar a white man makes.

Wow, the precision that you require for debate-level hypotheticals almost seem like factors that could be filtered out when the authors of the statistical analysis did their work…which, come to think of it, they did.
Would you mind providing an outside source that backs this up? I would like to look at it.

.

No it didn't. You are either not reading it all or cherry picking. Here's what the article says.

When we hold all employment characteristics equal, black or African American men still see the largest pay gap. The controlled pay gap for black men is $0.98 for every dollar a white man with the same qualifications makes. To put that in perspective, the median salary of a white man in our sample is $72,900; the controlled median pay for black or African American men is thus $71,500. This suggests a $1,400 difference in pay that is likely attributable to race.

I'm not going to argue with you about this any longer. You are wrong about.

Secondly note what they said. They said "likely attributable to race." They don't know they just suspect. Why? Because when you read the article they are obviously biased. But even their bias can't overcome facts. At least they were honest.

Can't say I disagree with that. The black community in the inner cities is a mess. The culture there is a mess. The family structure there is a mess. The gang problems there are a mess. The schools there are a mess and it's not all because of money.
Blacks are blamed by other blacks of being too white if they try to succeed. Doing well in school is frowned upon. Crime is rampant keeping businesses out. Yes there are problems there.

But that doesn't mean with determination and fortitude that you can't overcome those obstacles and forge a new future for you and your future family. There is nothing preventing anyone from doing it. There are no racial laws or ordinances or policies preventing blacks from becoming whatever they have the skills to become.
