Mochi

I heard about mochi on this forum. It is a Japanese treat. Has anyone tried Mochi? It looks so yummy. I want to try it one day.

I've had mochi before and it's okay, but I don't think I would actively seek it out. It's just not for me (unless it's mochi ice cream) but I can see why some people would like it. I got regular mochi from a friend one time and mochi ice cream from a Japanese restaurant that served it.

Hmm, I can't remember. All I know is that, to me, it tasted like dehydrated ice cream.

It was more of an observation.
I tried it again recently, though and I think I missed the mark a bit. It tastes like regular ice cream except for the doughy outside. It's really good!

I love the red bean paste mochi the best, but I've also had chocolate mochi, and yes, they're really good! They have a strange texture; a bit chewy, but in a good way.
