this somewhat counts...Guild Wars.
No, mentioning guild wars with MMORPGS is only to explain how its different. No stupid running around 18 worlds, no sitting in a cave waiting for monsters to spawn, no stupid "I'm level 48 and you're level 46 so you might as well have not showed up" PvP. No stupid "At level 3 you weren't planning your character for PvP so you might as well not be here." Seamless transistion between PvP and PvM with no spillover. Great graphics, and a good interface. Oh yeah, and no monthly fee.

I believe Guild Wars is an...MMO, but whats awesome is that levels in that game dont help much, and people with expansion packs can play with non expansion players, and the game is totally based on how good you are strategy wise, not your items or level. Also I love that 48 player team deathmatch (6 teams 8 players per team in one huge deathmatch arena with 3 bases shared each by 2 opposing teams)

I'm trying to find a bad point to the game, and I just can't do it. Hmmm... no jumping, and the horrible alpha-test pathing. That was annoying (the alpha test could have some seriously bad pathing sometimes. Hopefully that's improved).

My buddy started playing Star Wars Galaxies. I tried it at his house and really enjoyed it. I had some money from old games I sold at Gamestop, so I bought it. I like it because I don't have to play it for hours on end like EQ.

I didn't buy it when it first came out, because I was starting college full-time and didn't know how I'd handle the workload. Now, with a good GPA, I know I can handle it. :)

Anyways, I LOVE the Star Wars atmosphere. Very fun game.

I played SWG for 9 months when it came out (on Naritus). The game has incredible potential, but it was so buggy, and there were so many design flaws that I ulimately left. It will probably be much better in another year or so. A game shouldn't have to wait until 2 years after release to be finished though. When I left the game was a ghost town, I hear it has onlt gotten worse.

WoW is already more polished, fun, has WAY more content than SWG and still has many months of Beta left.

Guild Wars Alpha testing has tens of thousands of players, and it was just a small alpha. Every single person I played the alpha with online loved it. Diablo II has no jumping, yet its quite similiar to GUild Wars, and it got the game of the year award. Dunno, maybe your the one out of 100 people that dont like it:p
