I got my National League picks correct, but my American League picks were all wrong. The pennants are on the line this time and here are the match ups.

American League Championship Series: New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers finished the AL East Champion Tampa Bay Rays in five games, winning three games on the road to earn their first trip to the LCS. Unfortunately for them, they will not have Cliff Lee available for Game 1 against the Yankees. The Yankees swept the Twins and look like the stronger lineup. I look for the Yankees to repeat as AL Champions.

National League Championship Series: San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies
The Giants took four games to end the World Series dream of the Atlanta Braves while the Phillies managed to sweep the Cincinnati Reds out of the playoffs in three games. The pitching rotations for both teams are both solid, but the difference here is offense. The Phillies have a much more potent offense than the Giants. The Giants need to get through the Phillies to have a shot at their first World Series title since 1954 (when they were the New York Giants). If the Giants face the Yankees, it would be a rematch of the 1962 World Series. However, I don't think this will happen. I look for the Phillies to three-peat as NL Champions.

This will be an interesting series. I'm pulling for the Rangers, but they'll need more than Cliff Lee to put down the Yankees.

Good young pitching vs. good veteran pitching. This one will be fun to watch. My edge goes to the Phillies, though.
