Have I offered platitudes? If I have, they could not have been made because I am detatched from suffering.

Have I judged anyone, other than to suggest that there is no one who understands?
Of course not ... ... that would be why it said it did not aim those comments at you (since the default impression generally runs that if someone responds to your post they bes addressing you direct). You did none of those things. It bes thinking in generalities.

You are free to work on the position of your choosing... my intent for starting this thread is to dispell some of the myths people have told about God...
... and have BEEN told about Him too!

(and a goodly mission it bes.) :)

God did not correct them when they were mistaken...so just because they were inspired and wrote it down, does not make it truth....

In your mind. But let me ask you this then. Many who wrote the Bible died because the refused to recant the Gospel they were preaching. How many people do you know that would die to preserve a lie?

When my kids were small, my wife called me daddy, and I called her mommy, even though I am not her father and she is not my mother......

That's quaint. Of course that doesn't answer the question. But it does give us an insight into your "lovey-dovey" nature. Reminds me of the "smoochy" episode in Seinfeld.

I suspect neither you or your wife were responsible for creating you physically either.

You don't have enough information about Jesus or his life to make that statement, unless you are suggesting that the NT contains all that Jesus ever did while on earth.... Since it does not, one cannot say he did not use his divinity on earth, especially since he was a hybrid, where did humanity end and divinity begin?

You know sometimes I think you argue just to hear yourself think, because so much of what you say is nonsensical. Christ clearly relied on His Father while on Earth because he always sought to do the Father's will, even to the point of death on the cross.

Jhn 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Luk 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

You are free to work on the position of your choosing... my intent for starting this thread is to dispell some of the myths people have told about God...

Unfortunately for you Stormy the only myths that have been dispelled are the ones you believe about God. How vain can you possibly be? Do you honestly think that you can claim to know how God really is when He has yet to fully reveal Himself to you? Yikes!

Stormy, that's common practice in my family as well.
Correct AzA as my wife and I knew who we were but as an example for the children and because we wanted them to call us Mommy and Daddy, we called each other that..... Some things that parents do are for the benefit of the kids, not the parents.... Likewise, perhaps there were some things Jesus did not because he needed to but because he wanted the humans to understand the relationship.....

Do you honestly believe you even occupy any viable position from which to assess how much God has or has not revealed of Himself to someone else? Where do you get off accusing another man of being vain? You need a Romans 2:1 check, stat. And a time out from this thread to chill out.

Back to the wine part of this great question before us.

I hope some of you have been involved in winemaking beause personal experience strengthens that which is recieved through the ear.

Before we consider the biting of the serpent let us see why it bubbles in the cup.

The bubble occurs when the yeast/bacteria particle dies through its union with the sweet particle. If you added salt then this action would be reduced.

After the death of "all" of the yeast then the new wine is ready, but still not matured.

Through a variety of different processes more sugar can be in the mixture than yeast to kill and the result is a "sweet" wine that moves toward Champayne style of wine which has a great excess of sugar and I hope we all know what happens to the tongue when bitten by the wine.

And the heart / mind. Such a veil over them. Tongue moving freely.

Frankly? Yes I do.

Where do you get off accusing another man of being vain?
Because his notions about God and His character are vain. He is attempting to justify ignoring the rather plain word of God. That is the vanity in which he speaks. Instead of believing the clear depiction of God's character in the written word Stormy attempts to correct myths that belong solely to him.

You need a Romans 2:1 check, stat. And a time out from this thread to chill out.
I'll take your concern under advisement.

Stormy, I have no problem understanding you. Correcting you obvious misunderstandings about the nature and character of God is another story. If you feel I've insulted you in any way I apologize profusely but honestly brother what you espouse as knowledge about God is pure mythology.

four insults in your response was not needed to make any point you thought you needed to make.....

Four? You're kidding right? I think you are being quite sensitive myself. But again, if you have been hurt by anything I said I apologize.

have a good evening...

Sweet dreams.

It enjoys drinking fine wines. The only wine it has ever distilled bes whats written about in Revelation. Not all veils suffocate and obscure. Some merely tone down the light enough so rather than blinding you, it helps you see. There bes reasons for choosing mood lighting. ;)

Sweet dreams.
You my friend are exhibit A of two dimensional thinking in a multidimensional reality.... as such you are not in your present state capable of providing the corrective to anyone's thinking about God.... your views are so steeped in traditional thought that your comments to the OP reflect the status quo.... while you are comfortable with where you are, please do not delude yourself into believing that your thoughts comprise the "truth." Nor would your comments as presently configured provide comfort for those who are experiencing suffering.....

Lastly, only someone who thought they had all the answers would be considered vain.... as I look around only you seem to fit that bill.....

you make the assumption that the gospel they lived is also the one that was preserved in writing.... understandable given the other assumptions you have made....

That's quaint. Of course that doesn't answer the question. But it does give us an insight into your "lovey-dovey" nature. Reminds me of the "smoochy" episode in Seinfeld.
your failure to see the correlation reminds me of the preacher who proclaimed, "if the KJV was good enough for Jesus its good enough for me..." Likewise your concrete, linear, thinking indicates that you will never be mistaken for one who thinks outside the box....

I suspect neither you or your wife were responsible for creating you physically either.
as is your habit you have missed the point... completely....

You know sometimes I think you argue just to hear yourself think, because so much of what you say is nonsensical. Christ clearly relied on His Father while on Earth because he always sought to do the Father's will, even to the point of death on the cross.
You would be wrong, nice try though.... here is one for you, God is immortal and cannot die and cannot be killed..... Jesus is God.... thus did Jesus God die? ponder it before answering.....Only a linear thinking person would reply as you have thus far....

You don't know what I believe about God, nor are you in a position to know and lastly, whatever it is I believe about God your comments about this topic if taken seriously would be a step light years backwards..... As for how God has revealed himself to me, I think that is between he and I.... last time I checked....

No need to apologize you meant to say exactly what you said because you suffer under the delusion that you are correct and I am not.... so you meant, own it... it helps to know where a person stands....as I said before, you will never be mistaken for a person who thinks outside the box....

Not hurt at all, however insults have a tendency to get in the way of a discussion.... we can go there if you want, I have no problem with it, but discussions go so much better without them..... As for you, your responses are predictable, but they work for you.....

No delusion brother. You have a rather warped understanding of God's character.

so you meant, own it...

Meant what?

it helps to know where a person stands....as I said before, you will never be mistaken for a person who thinks outside the box....

Say what? I have a view of God few people do and you seem to think that I'm trapped in a box? Being trapped in a box is the view that God's a boogeyman, or it's God's fault there are problems in the world.

Your OP is a classic example of blaming God. I know Stormy, everything is God's fault.

Would you "feel" better if I just agreed with you? Fine. Everything is God's fault.

as Moriah suggested, let it go.... your comments on this thread have shown you have not understood neither the OP nor the scope of the OP as it relates to what is said about God..... this is one you just "aren't getting" and its okay....

Children drink the sweet wine of life and they rise up from tragedy and begin to play games. This is true of humans and beasts.

Adults drink the bitter wine of life and when tragedy comes they bemoan and count their losses. This is true of humans and beasts.

Wisdom has mingled her wine and sent forth her maidens.
